Omg finally 🧶😍🧶 knitting show mit Tom Daley 🤩🥳🤩 https://youtu.be/XbQ1_Ab5ggc?si=TBiQ7lSZvAukrpas
lessons I’ve learned (so far) from knitting my first sweater:
german short rows are actually pretty intuitive and not scary!
most of the skills I need for this top down circular yoke colorwork sweater I have already learned from knitting vanilla socks.
if you hang out with friends and chat while knitting your colorwork chart, you will make mistakes and have to backwards knit for 100 stitches
float tension for stranded colorwork is really important actually, and if you hold your floats too tight and keep them too long, you’ll get puckering!
I need to size up my needles for colorwork portions - my tension is tighter when working a chart.
when you split for sleeves, it feels like the sweater is almost done. it is not almost done.
sweaters are big and heavy to knit on once you’re past the yoke
putting your stitches on hold and trying on the sweater along the way is worth the effort to feel confident in the fit.
