Stolen from knitsandbones
This seemed like a pretty good introduction post, since I’m generally very bad at talking about myself~
Physical Book Or E-Book ? Physical book. I used to be addicted to my Kindle because it’s so convenient, but recently I’ve been trying to buy more printed books. They just feel more permanent and real, plus it’s so satisfying to watch my bookshelves fill up.
Audio Or Book In Hand ? Book in hand. I find audio books a bit hard to follow because I’m easily distracted. It’s harder for me to zone out if I’m holding a book in my hands.
Paperback Or Hardcover ? I love both, but I currently prefer paperbacks because they’re lighter and more portable, and I keep moving from apartment to apartment. Also, they’re cheaper.
Adult Or Young Adult ? Adult, usually. Some of my favorite books I’ve read recently have been young adult, but I don’t really keep up with the new releases or seek out YA in the same way I do with adult books.
Series Or Standalone ? Standalone. I just have so many books I want to read, I don’t like to spend too much time on a series unless I’m really invested in it. I like the conciseness and closure of standalone novels.
Dog Ears Or Bookmarks ? Bookmarks. I always lose my real bookmarks, or they get bent/beat up/chewed on by cats, so I’ve taken to using random pieces of ribbon. I do dog-ear the bottom corner of pages if there’s a really memorable quote or something, though.
Breaking the Spine Or Barely Opening ? Barely opening. I try to take good care of my books!
Borrow Or Buy ? Buy. I really need to watch my spending, but I love having my books be my own.
Bookstore Or Online ? I really prefer to support my local bookstores, but often the convenience of online shopping is too good to pass up. So I would say I use both about equally.
Fiction Or Non-Fiction ? I read a lot more fiction, but I’ve been trying to read more nonfiction.
Fantasy Or Real-Life Issues ? I love fantasy, but I usually lean toward more real life stuff, especially historical or LGBTQ+ fiction.
Kindle, I-Pad or other ? Kindle. It has a long battery life and a backlight, and I can actually read it in the sun.
Monster Read Or Short And Sweet ? Most of the books I’ve read lately tend toward short and sweet. Nothing against long books, though! If it’s well-written, I will read anything and probably not even think about the length.
Starry-Eyed Romance Or Full Of Action ? I would say action only because I’m picky about romance.
Curl Up In A Snuggie Or Bathe In The Sun ? Bathe in the sun! After the horrible winters in Ohio the past two years, I try to spend as much time outside as possible when the weather is nice, like I can save up the sunshine for the harsh cold ahead. Plus if I snuggle up, I usually fall asleep.
Zombies Or Unicorns ? Unicorns. Zombies really freak me out.
