Ember dragged his hands down his face, sitting on the side of the bed, and then nodded. He'd found a park, one in a relatively temperate zone where staying outside would be comfortable for a human even in autumn, and then sent the coords off to Carou.
In all honesty, the response had surprised them - Carou seemed so anxious, so tentative around Ember for reasons they couldn't quite place, and it left them expecting a rain check at any moment.
A portal opened in the bedroom, and Ember called out to his fiance that he was leaving, a quick, "Headed out, love you!" Then, turtleneck covering the scars that showed on his neck today, hands shoved in their pockets, Ember stood under the blue, crisp skies, scuffing his feet at the leaves and waiting for their acquaintance.
"Mom, look at me now, meeting strangers off the internet and everything," they muttered.
