Hello children, welcome to Garter Stitch Hell, where naughty knitters have to do an entire shawl in garter stitch!!!!! MUAHAHHAAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!! 😈 😈 The yarn is a rayon blend and is kinda crinkly, kinda like wrinkled paper or wrinkled plastic. And other patterns I tried didn't really work with it. It's one of those yarns that hide details and it's hard to explain unless you've worked with that kind of yarn. I found a couple of dropped stitch patterns that would look nice, but decided to go with classic garter stitch to really highlight the yarn. And tbh, it kinda looks more complicated than just garter. The pattern is for rayon blends and says to knit with a bigger needle than you'd normally use and to knit looser--all around, you do the pattern with a bigger gauge than normal for the yarn and I like how it looks. But I forget how boring garter can be.
