Hamsat Pepper
This is one of my favourite recipes to make for dinner ! It's a Middle Eastern recipe that usually includes beef but I prefer to omit it to keep it quick and easy ( and vegan!)
Ingredients:
- one green bell pepper
- one small red onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 tsp curry powder
- 2 tsp paprika
- salt to taste
- optional choice of hot sauce
- ( normally cooked in some olive oil but I removed it to keep it super low- calorie)
Instructions:
- finely dice the onion, pepper and garlic
- on medium heat add the onion and sauté until soft
- add garlic until fragrant ( usually takes a couple of minutes)
- add the tomato paste and mix
- cook off for a couple of minutes
- add the spices ( not the salt though)
- mix in the peppers until everything is thoroughly combined
- close pan and change to low heat for 5 minutes
- add the salt and hot sauce to taste
- serve!
This can be enjoyed with pitta bread as a dip or eaten alone!
