I work at Grab Games and we’ve been developing an arcade style VR boxing game called Knockout League! It’s out for early access right now. 

This is one of the characters that I designed and worked on. Her name is Crimson Fang and she is a fast and furious fighter.

Tras haber estado casi un año (en vez de los 4-5 meses previstos inicialmente) en versión Early Access en PC (HTC Vive, Oculus Rift y Windows Mixed Reality), desde hace unos días está disponible también la versión final del esperado juego de contacto Knockout League en su modalidad de realidad virtual para la consola PlayStation 4.

I have to admit that I didn't think I was going to like Knockout League as much as I did but I've got to say that playing this game is really fun... Exhausting but fun! The game has a great art style that immediately brought back nostalgic memories of playing Super Punch out back in the day but this time I was actually standing in the ring swinging and blocking. Knockout League is also quite a workout in VR! I have mentioned this before, but as someone who is overweight I can really see these more active VR titles as a way of helping me to shed some of my unwanted pounds. Knockout League is currently available for both the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive so if you have either one of those systems and want a really fun and very active experience with great graphics and gameplay then I highly recommend this one!

Knockout League para HTC Vive y Oculus Rift acaba de aterrizar en Steam en forma de versión con Acceso anticipado. Este juego de boxeo saca provecho de los controladores de movimiento de ambos sistemas para enfrentarnos a varios enemigos de los más curiosos, como un pulpo, un pirata o una bruja.

Bienvenido a Knockout League, un juego de boxeo arcade para un solo jugador, creado de cero para realidad virtual. Su jugabilidad intuitiva consiste en moverse y esquivar con el cuerpo y usar los mandos para atacar como ser haría en la vida real, olvidándose de botones. Entrena con varios ejercicios de boxeo para mejorar y ser capaz de enfrentarte a un variopinto elenco de personajes con diferentes estilos de lucha.

Aquí podéis ver un ejemplo de dos de los personajes disponibles en la versión con acceso anticipado:

Eso sí, parece que el juego se desarrolla a modo estático, con lo que no podremos movernos alrededor del ring, teniendo que golpear y esquivar siempre desde el mismo sitio.

La versión final pretende estar lista en unos 4-5 meses y la principal diferencia con la actual, además de corregir fallos que puedan salir y optimizar su rendimiento, es la de ampliar el elenco de personajes (actualmente 4), añadiendo golpes únicos y formas de actuar propias.
