OmniPCX Office RCE Empowers German SMB with Advanced IP Telephony

The Isariuk-Institut is a management consultancy in Germany that delivers quality management, profitability analyses, knowledge engineering, supply chain management, as well as streamlining business processes for its customers.

The OmniPCX Office RCE delivers a convergence of voice and other unified communications channels through a 7-inch touchscreen that runs on Linux.

Having Linux under the hood means that the company can not only configure the user interface to their preferences, but special requirements can also be met through help by system partners using manufacturer tools.

The phones also just look cool.

“The system’s flexibility and ability to upgrade made the entire package work out much cheaper than the other systems I had looked at,” he noted. “But I have to admit that there was also an emotional side to my decision. The OmniTouch™ 8082 My IC Phone from Alcatel-Lucent certainly is beautiful! I cannot deny that this also had a part to play in my decision.”

Another major benefit is the improved communications transparency offered by OmniPCX Office RCE. Because the system is fully integrated with Microsoft Outlook, business only need to manage contacts in one system—a boon for small business.

At least in this case, function did not require a back seat to form. Nor did being a small firm mean sacrificing the option to use an industry leader such as Alcatel-Lucent.
