Something hadn’t sat right with Twelve this whole investigation but was in no position to question things when all he had was a feeling on no evidence. As he and Ignis investigated suspects seemingly abandoned apartment he made sure to stay out of the tiny droids way that were doing deep scans of the place, and began to look around in cabinets and drawers for any hidden evidence.

When he poked his head under the bed only to see an armed bomb with a timer of five minutes slowly ticking down he could only blink at first, then quietly reached for the tools in his pockets.

“Found something Inspector! Though note I’m already taking care of it.”

She understood his concerns--even shared them to an extent--but this wasn’t exactly what she had been expecting. It took Winter a moment longer, and a long sip of her coffee, before she set down her mug and folded her hands together.

“I agree. While I understand General Ironwood’s concern and need to keep Atlas safe, I am afraid he is missing the point that the other kingdoms might view this course of action differently.”

The Dust embargo especially. 

As much as Winter hated agreeing with her father, it was not a good idea. The SDC was the lead supplier in Dust and because of that, cutting off the supply would leave the other kingdoms with limited resources to keep their own cities, towns, and villages safe. So many smaller suppliers had been choked out by the SDC that not everyone had a secondary source. 

“Granted, we do as we are ordered. I do not think we can change his mind easily.”

Getting close to the royal grounds was crucial if Seven was ever going to have a chance at assassinating the King or Prince, yet trespassing would instantly get him caught and his cover blown. So the clone had decided that ever so often he would plop down with his sketchbook near the citadel and find stuff to draw in order to blend in and wait. 

The pattern continued, but when one day when Prompto decided to press up against the fence to the royal gardens just to get a close look at some flowers did someone finally decide to disturb him.

“Did I do something wrong?” He questioned innocently, noting that this young man with glasses didn’t seem to look like a guard.

There were rare times during the course of her work day where she was allowed to do whatever she wanted. That was... if she knew what she wanted to do in the first place. When her entire life was centered around getting tasks done, it was difficult to decide what to do to fill in free time. While her employer was off doing a few business errands, he had given her instruction to just enjoy her time. She didn't need to accompany him to listen to such work drivel. Take a walk, enjoy the sun, he had said. Take a walk where? How was she to enjoy the sun? These questions plagued her as she stood to one side of the sidewalk. She was thinking more about these questions than actually following them. It was quite the dilemma. She was oblivious to how odd she  must have looked, standing there staring vacantly into the shop window.

More or less waiting for Ignis to regain consciousness, he wasn’t expecting anyone else to arrive at the altar. After all, Altissia was basically a ruin at this point. “Well, well, well, this is a surprise.” Despite the pure chaos, a young woman had made her way here.

“What is someone such as yourself doing amidst all this? Surely you’ve not lost your way?”

       Prompto felt a little guilty that Ignis was constantly doing most of the work for the group. He always made sure things were in order, no gear was left behind after camping, and, of course, Ignis always did all of the cooking when they camped. 

       And it wasn’t that he was ungrateful, oh no, Prompto was very happy he didn’t have to do any of the cooking. They probably would’ve all been starving if Prompto was left to do any sort of cooking, and everything Ignis made was food fit for a king; some of the best stuff Prompto had ever had.

       Still, he wished he was more... useful. He was documenting their trip, but he wasn’t great at helping to set up camp, or hunting down food or fishing.

       “Hey, uh, Ignis! You want any help?” he asked. It was kind of a long shot, cause he knew Ignis didn’t really need help, but hey, he could at least offer!

“Hello?”

Prompto peeked his head inside the apartment.  He had rung the doorbell outside of Ignis’s apartment, waited what felt like a few minutes, then tried knocking, only for the flimsy door to push in.  He knew Ignis probably would tell him off for not waiting but it wasn’t like Ignis to keep a door unlocked.

“Ignis, are you there? It’s me.  I’m here for the study session?”

As he toed off his shoes, he could hear various tinkering in the kitchen and went to investigate, his school bag still slung over his shoulders.
