Knut Buen, Hardanger Fiddle Music of Norway It might interest you that some of the pieces in the Knut Buen album were transcribed by composer Johan Halvorsen for solo violin. The melodic material from this compilation of Hardanger fiddle pieces was then later used by Edvard Grieg in his 17 Norwegian Peasant Dances (Slåtter), Op. 72 for solo piano.
