An AU that could be very fun to make is a time travel/fix-it Bingjiu with a small, tiny, inconsequential twist :)

What if Luo Bingge goes back in time (perhaps after seeing Shen Yuan and his pathetic husband Luo Bingmei) and think "I want that too! I want that soft, kind shizun too! Why him and not me?!" And at first, the timeline stays exactly the same. Shen Qingqiu is horrible, he's a lecher and a killer and deserves to suffer from that (+plus casting Bingge in the abyss)

And then an idea worms into Bingge's head (by the power of delulu I gift upon him) that maybe Shen Qingqiu is so horrible to him is because he's also going back in time and trying to stop Luo Binghe from ever becoming such a monster... in the only way he knows, which is to punish and beat and throw into an Endless Abyss rift, a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Then because Shen doesn't show signs of actually remembering the previous "loop", Luo Binghe starts to think that maybe Shen Qingqiu doesn't come from the future like him each time, but he sees the future, of what would be the world if he let Luo Binghe live.

And that should ring some bells of doubt too because it does not explain much or why Shen Qingqiu hurts him and not kill him if it's to spare the world of who he will become (and why kill Liu Qingge, who had a decent chance of fighting and winning against Bingge?) But the power of delulu is strong when Luo Binghe has been going back to the same time, punishment and misery as his disciple time and he gets into his head that maybe, maybe Shen Qingqiu is so horrible to him is not because he's a petty, viciously jealous man but because he cannot show favoritism or special treatment to a student (nevermind all that's happening with Ning Yingying) and Shen Qingqiu is fighting against the whole cultivation world to be with Binghe from the beginning.

So Luo Binghe starts... acclimating... Shen Qingqiu from disciple time to have a sticky, faithful, always present and obedient little sheep (bro is so confused but Bingge has been seducing and manipulating for so long now it's easy to twist his bitter, angry teacher into someone that's more akin to a hurt feral cat just hissing at the world because he cannot trust anyone but the kind hand that still choose him over and over again)

And at the end, they're together, happy as can be and both their wishes are fulfilled (Bingge to have his kind shizun, and Shen Qingqiu to be in a position of power where he wouldn't have to struggle ever again with someone that would never break a promise 💚)

hey i’m making this post to warn any trans women/trans fem people who are watching or reading kny who aren’t terribly far in. starting in chapter 71 (near the beginning of the red light district arc) there is a transmisogynistic joke that more or less just passively there for most of the arc. it’s the “man in a dress” joke. the arc ends at chapter 99 (but it changes location and shifts focus to the antagonists from chapter 98-99) so for people who want to read the rest of the manga but can’t read that arc I will try to list important details from the arc that actually matter outside of that arc ymmv

Whil writing God's Little Emperor, I've of course been reading fics and posts on bith twitter and Tumblr, one of which was about Hong Jing potentially ousting Meng Mo while he's hitching a ride with Binghe.

In the post, it talked about how Shen Qingqiu totally forgot about it for the reason of Hong Jing being talked about maybe once as a "Cang Qiong Mountain Sect relic" and vaguely described as reacting to demons/demonic possession. We've seen the other peak lords use it with Shen Qingqiu to try and tell if he'd been possessed (and fortunately not reacting), and there's no mention of it ever reacting to Meng Mo being inside Luo Binghe when he went to get Zheng Yuang.

Another fic I've been reading and loving is "why destroy the world when I can get baba kisses" (or something really close, I'm sorry for forgetting the title..!) and Xin Mo reacting to Shang Qinghua and seeing it as his god/father. Hong Jing, being a spiritual weapon, may have a similar "soul" and reaction, but more subdued. He's the older kid, the very filial one that has learned to reign in its behavior not to cause trouble for his baba. Obeying him when he asks for favors is the most it could do for creating it, even if it means letting a demon inside the rhe sect. After all, baba knows best.

On the other, other hand, what if Bing-di saw Shang Qinghua (who he, at this point, have a very complicated relationship with) laughing and being buddy/very close to Wei Qingwei and that sparks.. something. Something he doesn't realize is jealousy. He sees the way Shang Qinghua looks at his shixiong, at the muscles and the way WQW is taller& bigger and .. is that Shishu's taste?

(that's a big can of worms waiting to burst open.)

I get why people dislike Jacob for what he did but let’s not bash him for what happened afterward. This wasn’t something he had planned, there was no way in hell he could have predicted there would be werewolves running amock around Camp. Was it a dick move to sabotage the car so they would be ‘trapped one more night’ and he could have ‘one more chance with Emma’? Yeah, kinda. But also, depending on what we choose (the fuel line or the rotary arm), it tells that, for the later, he would have put it back so everyone could leave and, for the first? I don’t think he expected fire. Going back to him asking Kaythlin what to do to put an engine down, it’s clear he doesn’t know much about cars. He couldn’t have imagined it would make the whole engine burst into flames. Now, getting back to him and Emma, we actually don’t know how much they talked about breaking up. Yeah, we get that there’s the whole “long-distance romance” Emma didn’t want to try and be commited to since she seems like a rather physical love/presence type of person but also we don’t know how much they talked about their break-up. We’ve seen how awkward and hopeful (and clingy, yes) Jacob was with Emma but we’ve also seen Emma push& pulling him all night long! One moment she’s like “we’re nothing” and the next she makes him think he still have a chance! Also, there couldn’t have had much time for them to talk, prior to that, with packing up camp. There are kids running around and losing stuff, there’s a to-do list of things to check to close camp for fall/winter, there’s just no time to hold a proper conversation, especially a break up conversation. Hell, she might have push&pulled him all day, we don’t know! Jacob is a hopeful romantic and has low self-esteem and Emma, while in her rights to want to stop being with him and hold him accountable for his maladvised clinginess, isn’t helping! She see him cry, call him names and then asks him to join her for skinny dipping?! While mocking him for being upset she kissed Nick? (the “you can stand here, sulking, driving yourself crazy imagining Nick’s tongue in my mouth” who the fuck say that like that?! She’s literally putting salt in the wounds!)

Listen. I like Emma, she’s the ‘confident because I have to even if it means I have to be a bitch about some things’ and I respect that. But I can’t accept how she treated Jacob and how people are absolutely jumping on the “Emma was right, Jacob is horrible (for trying to get back with her when she says no, and because he trapped them here)” bandwagon.

He’s miserable, he’s guilty he either 1)lost the rotary arm in the lake (if he goes to save Abi) or 2)burned the engine of their only vehicule. He’s not a “poor little mew mew” but dang, he doesn’t deserve the heat he gets from the fandom.
