## Koarmatim and Monjaya ## . The Koarmatim Port Area, short for Komando Maritim RI Kawasan Timur (photo below), and the Monument Jalesveva Jayamahe, or Monjaya (photo above), are located in Surabaya, a city known as the city of heroes. . The function of this area is to serve as a docking place for Indonesia's warships as well as other types of ships. Right behind this area are buildings used for the operations of the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL), and their specific functions can be directly inquired with the personnel there. . In celebration of the TNI AL Fleet Day, this restricted area is opened to the public, specifically for Surabaya and its surroundings. . Visitors can get a close look at the ships owned by Indonesia's Navy fleet. Additionally, TNI AL personnel are available to provide information to visitors entering the area (only for today). . Monjaya, or the Monument Jalesveva Jayamahe, was built in 1990 and inaugurated on December 5, 1996, by President Soeharto. . This monument serves as both an honor and a reminder for the people of Indonesia that this country is a maritime nation. . Maritime history is unique because trade between kings in the archipelago was carried out via the sea, and the spread of religion and the mixing of sub-races also occurred through the sea. . So, if you're unable to enjoy the grandeur of Monjaya and the sight of ships and TNI AL equipment today, can you visit another day or time? . The answer, according to several sources on the internet, is yes. The most important thing is to communicate with the personnel there and have a clear purpose, whether it’s for educational purposes regarding Indonesia's maritime aspects or other positive goals. . p.s.
