I don't know precisely how you go about making a game that's a combination of Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots and tiddlywinks, but someone appears to have done that very thing.

as it stands right now aster is the only one who has the power to draw weapons from people. there might be somebody else eventually but I haven't made any plans for that yet!

Are kobots vulnerable to things that phones are, such as water and falls?

kobots would be 'okay' in rain, if protected well enough in a pocket or bag. being submerged in water would cause damage. it's possible to waterproof them but it's expensive. most people settle for a miniature rain coat. 

kobots can take the usual from-the-hip fall and land on their feet, undamaged. but anything more than that could result in serious damage. don't throw kobots off balconies.

what's aster's deal? how did she discover her powers, and what is the main evil entity that threatens her/her city? does she have any sort of family? she seems rather aloof, but does she have much of a soft side?

aster has always known of her powers, but hasn't needed to use them until the start of the story. 

the threat to the city is (wow woah) kobots. abused and mistreated kobots become corrupted and turn into giant robotic monsters, taking their anger out on their owner and everybody around them. it's assumed by the people and the media that it's a virus but she knows better. that shit's programmed right in. don't abuse ur bots.

aster has no family to speak of. she's alone and prefers it that way. her only soft side is toward kobots, and eventually marigold

yo!!! please tell me about kobots. who created them? what is the status of technology in their world- is it on the whole more advanced than ours, or is it roughly the same? what percentage of the population uses kobots? do they manufacture less cutesy versions for businessmen, etc to use? have kobots ever been weaponized in some form?

kobots were created by an as of yet unnamed japanese company, surprising nobody. technology in general is roughly about the same, with the addition of holograms and highly advanced artificial intelligence, and some minor things that'll probably pop up here and there as needed. but in general, advancement is mostly in the cities.

kobots are probably about as common as newer iphones and the like. the basic, very plain models are what most people would have since to them a kobot would just be a tool. only people really dedicated to them would have them customized or buy the special outfits and personality mods. 

male kobots are available, and there are simpler, cheaper models that don't have locomotion or personalities that amount to little more than a flash drive. I'll draw some of these later.

kobots have been used for espionage since they're so small, and have also been used to defuse bombs and landmines, replacing animals. it's not like they're alive or have feelings :)

how do magical girls discover their powers :?

aster is the only one that can draw a weapon from somebody, and she's always known she's had this power. 

so everybody else only discovers they can provide a weapon when she pulls one out of em haha. as of right now the people she takes weapons from don't gain any powers themselves. they just get a nice outfit
