Waiting for Smaug
Right before the deluge of rain yesterday, our bathroom vanity showed up. Wayfair was supposed to text me between 2:30 and 6:30 to tell me they were 30 minutes away, instead I heard a faint knock on the front door at 1:30. It’s a good thing I was home, waiting, and not out looking at ceiling fans with Bob. I’d had a green vanity with a marble countertop in my cart for weeks, but when it came time…

Hear me out…
Forget an Encanto sequel I want a prequel.
It’s set right after Mirabel loses her powers and Bruno leaves. It shows how Dolores tries to tell the shocked family that Bruno is in the walls but she’s shut down and gets in trouble for lying so she convinces herself she’s just hearing things. It also explores Camilo dealing with his new powers and learning to be not who he wants to be, but whatever person the others need him to be.
Obviously the main character is still Mirabel, learning to exist as the only Madrigal kid without powers. The two dads try to comfort her but it’s different bc they are outsiders, not directly related to Alma and the Miracle. Mirabel at the end of the movie learns to accept her situation and try to still be as helpful and kind as possible, even without powers. And we see her befriend Casita.
We watch her go from trying to be Alma’s perfect little princess/puppet to her own unique person.
Solo le falta tener la boca abierta.
