Historical and important natural pearl and diamond tiara, Köchert, late 19th century

Of openwork, garland design, set with drop- to slightly baroque drop-shaped natural pearls measuring approximately from 10.50 - 12.65 x 18.60mm to 7.70 - 7.75 x 9.70mm, set throughout with cushion-shaped and circular-cut diamonds, inner circumference approximately 240mm, unsigned, maker's marks for Köchert, Austrian assay marks for gold, screwdriver, brooch and comb fittings for the central element, two hairpin fittings, five central elements detachable, thirteen pearl pendants detachable, fitted case stamped Köchert.

Pendant que des Joyaux de la Couronne de France sont dérobés au Louvre... des bijoux de la dynastie Habsbourg sauvés par l'Impératrice veuve Zita de Bourbon-Parme (1892-1989), épouse de l'Empereur déchu Charles Ier (1887-1922), lors de son exil au Canada avec ses enfants pendant la Seconde Guerre Mondiale (1940), et protégés dans une valise brune en carton mise au coffre dans une banque au Canada, refont surface par ses héritiers après un siècle, dont le diamant jaune pale "Florentin" (déjà disparu en 1921 puis réapparu en 1925), des bijoux signés du joaillier Köchert, une aigrette en forme de nœud aux couleurs de la Hongrie, en diamants, émeraudes et rubis ayant appartenu à l'Impératrice Sissi, un collier de l'Ordre de la Toison d'Or incrusté de diamants porté par l'Empereur Joseph II et deux montres ayant appartenu à la Reine Marie-Antoinette, une première en émeraude offerte par l'Impératrice Marie-Thérèse à sa fille et une seconde de l'horloger Jean-Antoine Lépine renfermant une mèche de cheveux (peut-être de Louis XVI ou d'un des enfants royaux), 2025.
