21. "This, this makes it all worth it."

Kaliyo eyed the jumble of repurposed packing crates, piles of refuse, and jury-rigged equipment dubiously. “A bunch of grubby refugees?”

“Live refugees.”

She snorted. “Like they wouldn’t sell you to a Hutt for a decent meal.”

“That’s Hutt Space,” he agreed. “As you’ve pointed out.”

They left the edges of the refugee camp behind, heading up the poorly lit corridor to where they’d left their rented speeder. Not that either of them expected to find it still there, not in that sector of Nar Shaddaa.

Of course, if they’d stuck to the mission as outlined, they would have been in and out in a fraction of the time it had taken them plant dozens of tiny charges to destroy the factory’s equipment without risking the neighboring refugee camp, and they might have returned before the speeder was stolen.

His generous expense account would appease the rental company. Kaliyo was another matter entirely. She was already irritated that he’d cost her a chance to blow up a factory. Having to walk to a portion of the sector that was actually served by taxi companies wouldn’t help.

Live refugees, Kyrian reminded himself. However Kaliyo might expect him to make the night’s inconveniences up to her, the survival of the refugee camp was worth it.

I did DS Jaesa romance and turned down marrying her. I found it boring and I found her a little over the top. All in all, I didn't like it.

I really don't get the appeal of DS Jaesa or her romance. It makes sense in-game, I guess, since you basically destroy her life but damn is that creepy

I did the DS Jaesa romance once. Really don't want. Plus, I find the whole LS/DS thing with her really stupid.

Yeah, you guys pretty much summed up why I don’t like it (or DS Jaesa in general, to be honest). It probably didn’t help that my first SW was Malicineve, who is herself really obnoxiously over-the-top DS, but I would have preferred a more calculating/manipulative DS version of Jaesa rather than what we got. She just feels very one-note and uninteresting in-game.

And I agree with you, @lainathiel - I wasn’t too impressed with how they handled the LS/DS difference, although at least LS Jaesa has some interesting thought behind her (though I really, really, could have done without the weird “we can make powerful Force-sensitive babies” conversation)

Neverending Ask Meme

I was tagged by @lesabear for this one, and I’m tagging @kodrevas and @frauzet and @swagpuppyphilosopher. If you want and haven’t been tagged!

Rules: Answer all questions, add one of your own, and tag as many people as there are questions: I am a terrible person and I think I have at least one of these still sitting in my inbox from forever ago so I’m not adding any more questions because it’s already pretty long.

Under a cut for length.

Coke or Pepsi: Either. I like ginger ale or root beer better.

Disney or Dreamworks: Laika! Really, though, I love a good story from either and say boo on those who maintain a film isn’t “real” unless it’s live-action.

Coffee or tea: yes. Unless its 5am then it better be coffee because otherwise I’m not moving (imagine the tin man calling “Coffee mug! Coffee mug!”)

Books or movies: yes. Don’t make me choose.

Windows or Mac: Windows. 

DC or Marvel: Funny thing, I never got into US comics all that much. That said, my three favorite characters are Rocket, Groot, and Mystique, so I suppose Marvel wins by default.

Xbox or PlayStation: Uh, not so much. For me a console is just a piece of equipment which I use to kill my avatar. Even in games where, theoretically, you can’t die. On my PC at least I can write as well as kill my avatar in games.

Dragon Age or Mass Effect: I never played either one. I enjoy people’s art and stories about them.

Night owl or early riser: I am a night owl by nature but I have to get up stupid early for work. This does not mix well.

Cards or chess: Cards. When I play. Which isn’t often. Though we did pick up the Oregon Trail game over the holidays so I look forward to dying of dysentery.

Chocolate or vanilla: Yes. I can’t choose I’ll offend half my pantry either way.

Vans or Converse: I have a pair of both. Technically one is a hand me down (not saying which one...)

Lavellan, Trevelyan, Cadash, or Adaar: Lavellan! Wait a minute, we’re not discussing Welsh poets, are we?

Paragon or Renegade: Renegade...I do not think this means what I think it means.

Star Wars or Star Trek: Both. I adore classic Trek, not thrilled with the reboot movies. Star Wars, of course.  

One episode per week or binge watching: If it’s something I get into I binge, defining “binge” as “not really watching other shows until I run out of my current fave.” That can take awhile depending on how many episodes there are.

Heroes or Villains: I prefer heroes and heroic stories for the most part. So many times though the villains are written as so darn interesting. Maybe that’s why I like Rocket and Groot so much.

Kill Quinn or kiss him: I am the rare SWTOR player who doesn’t have strong feelings for Quinn either way. Kaliyo, on the other hand...

Gandalf or Obi-Wan: There are times I wish Gandalf would scratch a rune in my door and invite 13 dwarves over for dinner.

MMO or Single Player? I play MMOs so I can play with my friends.
