I absolutely devoured this book and am desperate for more stories that take place in this world!

“Mate” follows Serena Paris, the first Human-Were hybrid, after the target on her back leaves her with only one choice: enlist the help of Koen Alexander—the Alpha of the Northwest pack and her supposed mate.

Serena and Koen’s slow burn romance is wildly addictive. The pacing only adds to the intensity of their chemistry and the tension stemming from the forbidden nature of their relationship. Both characters fight against their baser instincts, but living under the same roof makes it impossible, which I found highly entertaining! With each barb they exchange, the closer they grow. Hazelwood certainly delivers on the spice, but I loved the softer moments too. I could not get enough of the way Koen took care of Serena and helped her process her childhood trauma as well as his possessive internal thoughts at the beginning of each chapter! I hope Hazelwood continues to write paranormal romances because I will always pick them up!
