Chapter 9 has so many one liners that I’m so proud of so here’s a few sneak peaks because I’ve been kind of slack with the updates recently:

“You sound like Sokka when you lie.”

Sokka let out a highly offended gasp, throwing his hand to his chest. “Hey, I’m a great liar!”

“Okay, first of all—that comparison was rude,” Charlie interjected, holding up a finger. “I’m a fantastic liar.”

“Would you believe me if I told you Jet’s a manipulative sociopath who’s going to blow up a dam with four barrels of blasting jelly and flood an entire town?”

“No.”

“Then never mind.”

“Do you know what happened to the blasting jelly?” he whispered with a knowing smile.

Charlie quirked back her own pronounced lip-purse. “I may have... temporarily requisitioned it earlier.”

“So you stole it,” Sokka corrected.

“Let’s not get caught up in the details.”

Im glad to hear the next chapters are coming along! How soon after 14 will 15 come out if they're both done?

Chapter 14 has now been released.

Chapter 15 has been completed (Part 2 of the Bato episode), however I won't post it until I've written Chapter 16 (Jeong Jeong episode). I thought it might be better to stay at least a chapter ahead. This way, it keeps me motivated. I have a chapter that I'm itching to release while writing the next one, rather than feeling overwhelmed because I have nothing to fall back on.

Chapter 16 is coming along. I've done a first draft of the script with Charlie's additions. Now I'm going through it again to add more dialogue and some general blocking and function. After that, I'll rewrite it in full prose, which I expect will take over a month.

When Charlie wakes up in a world that’s not her own, surrounded by people who by all accounts should be fictional, she's at a complete loss for how she got there in the first place. Charlie journeys to find her own destiny while struggling to help the Avatar complete his.

Or, a quick-witted teen with red hair and freckles gets thrown into the Avatar universe and is somehow expected to fit in. Obviously, she kind of fails. With her knowledge of the TV show, she pretends to be psychic to aiding her in helping the Gaang—now she just needs to keep up her lie.

Heyy I'm only asking bc is saw on Wattpad you're willing to give spoilers, but in Koete are you planning on canon divergence? Like it feels like it's leading that way but it's too early to say and I don't know where it would split off

Hi anon, thanks for your ask. I am definitely willing to give spoilers but take them with a grain of salt because I don't have a hard plan that I'm sticking too.

Pretty much, I would love to do canon divergence in season 3 and I feel like that's a great spot for it, but l have no clue how. There is so much season 3 content that I want to add Charlie into. Having it be completely canon divergent is not something I can comprehend at this stage.

I know l've mentioned the rubber band theory vs the butterfly effect before, but l've kept it open ended to allow for canon divergence. Feel free to reach out again if you'd like any specifics.

So applause on Koete so far. Charlie is the type of character that makes me feel like the tv show is missing a piece. Anyway, do you have an official faceclaim for Charlie?

Wow that is probably the nicest thing anyone has said about my writing, thank you so much. I do try to make her seem natural and give her an actual part in the story, rather than just being there.

I have always imagined her as Luca Hollestelle.

She's a Dutch actress, not in many shows but she is perfect. Red hair, brown eyes, freckles, mischievous look, she's exactly how I envision Charlie, just with shorter hair at first.

Maybe I should make some edits with the live action cast to tie it together more (although Ian Ousley isn't exactly who I envisioned for Sokka).

I hope to get one out within the next few months. Those who follow me on Wattpad are already aware, but right after the release of Chapter 13 my dad passed away to cancer. I had been on with writing streak at that point, but I knew after that it'd take some time to get back into it.

At this point in time I have become more motivated to write again, so I'll be continuing with chapter 14 in my free time, but the chapters take some time due to their length. Until then, feel free to ask any questions you like!

First I would like to say that your story is amazing 🤩 my question is how will Charlie react to Sokka's hair down/grown out in season 3?? And ZUKO's hair!!!

Definitely a positive reaction. I can see Charlie making a back-handed comment about how unfortunate Zuko's previous haircut was, and potentially something about the even more unfortunate transition period after he cut the ponytail off.

Not sure about her reaction to Sokka's hair growing out, only because she's with him all the time and probably wouldn't take much notice until he takes it down. Maybe just a comedically timed double-take when it's both longer and down.

Sokka in season 1 wasn't shown to take his hair down when he slept (I think) so I could potentially play around with something there when he first does in season 2. Pretty sure it's in the Avatar State episode (which personally, I dislike. So it could be good to write more sub plots).
