“is that...” lance frowns, tapping against the pile of cards in between them, “is that even allowed?” he hasn’t played a card game in years, but that doesn’t mean he’s about to forgo all the rules he still knows. he shoves the top card back at keith and motions to the cards stacked faced down right next to the smaller pile. “two for your mistakes.”

     a giggle escapes the blonde’s lips , the first in so very long that she has allowed mirth to conquer her heart over anger or fear or sorrow , as she pets the cosmic creature that keith had found .  there are no ‘ PETS ’ in the colony ; such a concept of harbouring a beast of one’s own is not a ritual she is accustomed to , and any sustenance they might have had produced by livestock had already been prepared and systematically distributed by lotor’s sentries .  if nothing else , the alteans have been cultivators of the land , reaping what they could plant and grow themselves .  but she did not think ill of the earth custom ; on the contrary , finding a friend in the one that was called a ‘ wolf ’ is comforting .  ( and very soft to pet ! )

     ❝ have you decided on a name yet ? ❞ she asks keith , lifting up her gaze to better address her companion .  while it is something so mundane , it is EXCITING to the altean , like bestowing a name upon a newborn babe .

She’d managed to drag Keith along with her and once they arrived at their final destination, Pidge had explicitly instructed him to keep his eyes shut. Carefully, she led him to a room and had him sit before picking up a kitten and placing it on his lap. “Okay, you can open your eyes now.” She grinned, picking up another kitten. “We’re at the animal shelter. Nothing helps me more than snuggling with a kitten or puppy when I’m stressed. So...what do you think?”    』

“What is wrong, Keith?” Antok questioned, seemingly oblivious to the fact that there was a small blue lizard sitting happily on his armored face. “Why are you staring at me?”

Time passed since Keith’s return to their team -- and things, admittedly, had gotten more comfortable and like the ol’ days ( save for some improvements and crisis ). They all began this journey of war TOGETHER, hit cruel bumps among each other, was separated and now the puzzle pieces are slowly -- but gradually coming together. Yet, there was still chronic sense of EMPTINESS within a small space that is begging to be filled. The revelation Matt had offered to them shocked the team to their core - of the sacrifice Keith nearly made. Of course, throwing one’s life for another isn’t FOREIGN to Lance either -- and as much as it also runs in his veins, having it done by someone who wasn’t him ... inevitably brought about an indiscernible ANGUISH. Lance supposes that he should be the LAST to begin a conversation with Keith over this matter since they were on poor terms until very recently. Still .. it’s best for everyone to watch each other’s backs in wars, on a battlefield or not -- and Lance had admittedly been neglectful of that. ❝  Hey, Keith. You got a minute ?  ❞ he asked, ambling over to his comrade. ❝  About what happened before. You know ... that time when you almost sacrificed yourself ?  ❞   @kogancs
