✨ Ojiya Koi Pins are available now! ✨ Ojiya, Japan is famous for being the birthplace of ornamental colored carp, known as "nishikigoi". 50% of the profits from these pins will go to benefit Ojiya Study Abroad, a Japanese language and culture study abroad program. -Kohaku-  Appropriately named "red & white," these koi have white bodies with large red markings. This is the oldest type of koi to be cultivated and they remain the most popular! Click “source” below to view the full koi pin collection!

-Tancho- Any type of koi with a single red patch on it's head, tho the classic is a pure white koi with a circular red patch. It's popular for resembling the Japanese flag. The name "tancho" comes from the similarly marked Japanese Red-Crowned Crane.

-Platinum- On to the metallics! This one is exactly what's on the label, a pure platinum koi. It's a subtype of "Hikari Muji" koi, which is any type of solid color, shiny koi with no additional markings.

-Ogon-

Finally (at least for now!), "Ogon" which means gold! Specifically this is a "Yamabuki Ogon", all yellow with a metallic golden sheen. This is another one of my favorites! They're just so cool and super shiny in person. Click “source” below to visit the full koi pin collection at witchvamp.com
