Tadashi arched an eyebrow, taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly. His expression was still hard, mildly angry, and there was pain deep in his eyes, but he held it in. Finally, with an exhausted sigh, he turned back to his project. "That's no reason to hurt someone's feelings," he said simply. "Orphans have just as much right as kids with society's standards of proper parents. No one is better than someone else because of what their parents are or do. Someone is better because they're smarter or stronger or faster. I was raised by my aunt. She wasn't the one with a knack for robotics though. That was me."
He looked back at her and smirked. "Next time someone says something about you being an orphan, tell them Edgar Allen Poe and Marilyn Monroe were orphans too." He turned his chair about and leaned back, legs stretched in front of himself. "Babe Ruth. Eleanor Roosevelt. Herbert Hoover. Augustus Caesar. Tolstoy." He hummed. "Yeah. Lot of really important people that were orphaned, adopted, raised by family members or foster families... I think you're gonna be just fine.
