Post College Evaluation Pt.1
With this past weekend attending Nocturnal Wonderland, I realize that time is taking its toll on closing out my college life and into a post college phase. This is harder than college, this is real life being implemented in the moves I do, the “your on your own” phase. Everything has to be strategic with considerations being pulled for the long run, but I somehow want to keep going and get into business management since it seems reasonable now of days to have that knowledge to expand a franchise or maintain a healthy company. I for one, do want to own a company or be apart of projects that takes a lot of planning. It’s actually fun creating but watching the resources and value go up. Just like how life is now, will reflect on that decision. But for now, needs to zone in what I’m going to do with this photography degree.
First, I’d like to say that this starting path is broad on where I could go. Too broad that it’s a large part that’s scary enough to be a giant. From weddings, editorial or fine art, I feel like all of it wouldn’t be as consistent as for something else I had in mind. Since my first plan was to start a photography career, this can be actually used as a tool too help me advertise on others things I want to do like host parties, create a dispensary franchise out here, continue to find wedding gigs and graphics. So many tools from photography can be broken down into little subcategories that yes, I do need to start somewhere soon. I’m worried, but I think I’m really anxious to start earning again even if I have to start small; at an intern or minimum wage job. For now, this tool will be very useful when it comes to promotional anything. That’s the pattern I caught on from clients towards me since my social media outlook blows up anything.
If I do start small, growth and investments from that to be put into my other plans, will all double either way over time so with that, I need to remind myself to not worry and be extra patient. Although I’ve been coped up at home more than my room mates, that time inside is giving me that anxiety and creates impatience. Then I thought of a quick solution on how I need to get out more plus add to my daily routine, a fixed gear bike. As long as I have this case that a man can’t live up to his deeds, than I’ll be manning up and adapting to his plead. I rather peddle my way into success and see what else this city has to offer. That’s one mystery that I’ll get back to later. In the mean time, mash!
After all the mashing until the lease is up, I’ve been thinking a lot of where my next moves are for the next projected five years. Overall, I feel half disconnected with Los Angeles, the people here and belonging. But, lately, I think my dreams are coming more true everyday. Example, our place is overall still growing, we are still young adults all trying to fit in and find purpose on what we do. Like I was told before from a friend in psychology, “Our generation is the generation of find purpose. We are enlightened by so much because our era has many things to accomplish.” True, we do have a lot to do and we can all feel the struggles wave, sometimes we crash and we just catch each other. One of the dreams that I know that this is the right place to be is the environment. Something about the balcony being hot and sunny or the room having familiarity that grasp my thoughts on how this all came to place. Even with the cities disconnect, our home has been a great place to start living the life we always wanted.
My other thoughts have lead to home and the mysteries it holds. Being away from Hawaii has strengthen my capabilities, but not much as understand the true journey behind it. Main reason why I came here? It never changed, wanted the best of what life had to offer since the opportunities back home looked slim to none on the art department. Even with the popularity I had, it somehow lingers on and increased the demand for my work over time. I guess it’s because of how I was attending this art school, word spread around as my quality increased. This attraction though has got my head scratching, should I move back? With all the support and possible leads, does the knowledge and strength that I mustered up enough to turn home around?
