“I missed you so much.” from amélie !
He didn’t think it’d be that long. A week. He never expected it to feel like it dragged on for ages. Gabriel could only imagine what that waiting had to be, for her. Returning in the dead of night, the darkness felt like comfort. Body sore, bones and muscles aching in a bittersweet kind of way. She was probably up. Neither of them slept well on a regular basis, and this was way far from the usual.
There’s brief tension when the door opens with ease, shoulders squared and he’s ready to fend off just about anything. But she’s waiting when it swings open, damn near jumping when she’s sure it’s him. Had to have heard him coming.
His voice is soft, leaning into the gentle touch of cool fingers against his cheeks. She turns his face, looking him over. A bruise started blooming under his right eye–already nice and gnarly looking. The usual tracing of his scars, making sure there aren’t any new additions. Not this time. This time he came back…Relatively clean. Any blood on him, in no way his.
Gabriel tilts his head, holding her wrist and kissing her palm. His eyes shut, and he nods slowly. The bag drops to the floor, a loud thud from his mask and guns. With that lack of weight his body seems to nearly melt as her arms wrap around his shoulders, bringing him close. Talon won’t get rid of itself–Well, you could say it can–just to be a little ironic. It’s bloody, nasty work and Amelie isn’t the only one keeping herself busy with it. “I know.” A kiss is pressed to her shoulder, hand settling against the dip of her back. “Sorry I was a little late.”
