So...what's it really made from?
Kombucha is JUUUUST a tea that has gone through a fermentation process.
We use a yeast and bacteria culture (Which ends up being called a kombucha mother) and it reacts and feeds off sugar! (It is basically a living thing...which is awesome...but still vegan!)
When you want to start a new batch you can take a piece of the "Mother" ( This floppy pancake like disc is called a 'scoby' ) and start a new one!
Its almost like making cheese, where cultures can be made and used to make more.
So there is TEA, YEAST/BACTERIA CULTURE, and SUGAR
what about flavoring your kombucha?
If you add juice to your tea while brewing, you risk your alcohol content going up or spoiling. We wait for our batches to brew before soaking it with fruit or mixing with juices (lemonade is good...mmmm...Arnold Palmer.)

How is Kombucha fermented but not alcoholic?
Not all fermentation processes produce alcohol!
Yogurt,Kimchi,and vinegar are all fermented and do not have a high alcohol content.
Fermentation is used to bring out new and strong flavors as well as health benefits.
Yogurt and Kombucha both help regulate the bacteria in your stomach. If you are vegan or lactose intolerant, kombucha is a great alternative.
(Its also higher in probiotics and faster acting)
