So far as I can tell, French Resistance (unclear if “The” was in the band name) first popped up on a compilation in 1986 called Rock Rebel Quality [Best British Punk] on Konexion Records among the likes of The Exploited, Sex Pistols, and solo Sid Vicious. This was the final track on that compilation. As you can hear, it doesn’t really fit in with the punk songs-- the music is on the goth side of post-punk, the lyrics are dark, and the vocalist sounds like Lords of the New Church era Stiv Bators.
This track and the other one on this album, “Hollywood Girls”, have been featured on several compilations around the world since then (namely MBC Records), but the band never put out any releases. Sadly I have no further information.
