One of the famous scenes of the movie is when Billy Hoyle (Woody Harrelson) is first picked up by Sidney (Wesley Snipes) after a player gets hurt. In a wide shot that features some of the hottest Nike sneakers of that time. Snipes in the Nike Air Flight Lite High, Harrelson in the Nike Air Command Force and Kadeem Haridson in the Jordan 6's. In the '98 film Jake Shuttlesworth played by Denzel Washington gets an opportunity to come home to jail to persuade his son Jesus played by Ray Allen to go to the governors alma mater in exchange for a lighter sentence. When Jake gets out of jail one of his first stops was to the sneaker store for the latest Jordans.

Marty is given the Nike Air Mags by Doc to look inconspicuous in the year 2015. Nonetheless, the transparent sole seen in the Jordan 5s, 6's and 11's come directly from the Air Mag concept designed by the famous Tinker Hatfield.
