For the first of the sidekicks, here's the grumpiest little wizard who stole my heart by the end of the Forgotten Sanctum. (And a preview of Konstanten too!)

Konstanten: I'm a staunch admirer and lover of my taller wife. I enjoy her height, dominance of her physique, and her overall supremacy. Umm... I enjoy my tall my wife. *cracks up* I enjoy my very big spouse... so much. I love my big wife, guys, I don't know what to tell you.
awww i love it when the main companions have dialogue with the sidekicks 🥰

Off track for Adi?
Just in time for @watcher-wednesday!
-------------------------
“Adi, are you sure this is the right way?”
Adela paused at the question and bit her lip, running a more critical eye over their surroundings than she had thus far. “...I thought it was. I left a marker right where I glimpsed the ruins; and it it looked like a pretty straight shot out from the main road.”
“Yeah, but, Watcher, we haven’t exactly been travelin’ a straight line,” Konstanten interjected, leaning against a tree to shake something out of his boot.
“We haven’t?” Xoti frowned as she flicked a leaf from her hair. “You can tell?”
Adela toyed with the tail of her braid as she and Xoti both looked at Konstanten expectantly.
“Well, it’s generally impossible to go anywhere in a straight line when a place is this overgrown,” he explained with a smile, running a hand over his hair. “‘Less there’s a road to follow, which we don’t have.”
“So... we’re lost?” Adela pursed her lips, ears tipping back. Edér was never going to let her live this down.
“I didn’t say that,” Konstanten laughed. “We’re only lost if we can’t find our way forward or back, and--” he jerked a thumb over his shoulder “--we have a good shot with back.”
Adela and Xoti followed the gesture to note the fairly clear--and not at all straight--trail they’d left through the vegetation.
“But I don’t want to go back unless we have to,” Adela said, swiping one foot through a trailing vine cluster and wondering with a small pang of guilt if they were so turned around because she’d been leading even though she could hardly see over some of the flora on this island. “I want to see those ruins. an’ you two’re at least a little curious to’ve come with me instead of heading back to the ship with Aloth and Rekke.”
Xoti and Konstanten shared a look and shrugged.
“We can try pushin’ on a little farther,” Konstanten said, glancing at their surroundings and then up at the sky as best he could through the trees. “I think I got an idea of how off-course we got and how to fix it. But if we don’t find these ruins soon, Watcher, we’re gonna need to head back.” He chuckled wryly. “Part of why you found me in Neketaka was the desire to not die in the middle of some gods-forsaken jungle.”
“Deal,” Adela nodded, then looked up at Xoti. “If that’s alright with you?”
The priestess shrugged again. “Sure, why not? These better be some darn good ruins, though, Adi.”
“My thoughts exactly,” she laughed, then gestured for Konstanten to lead the way. Hopefully he could do a better job finding their goal than she had so far.
He did, and fast enough Adela had a couple hours to roam the ruins, copying inscriptions, taking rubbings or making sketches while Xoti and Konstanten looked around more casually. The return trip was much easier; Konstanten led them back along their own trail(which she couldn’t even see in spots) to the road, and from there it wasn’t long back to the Ilhana.
She gave him a kiss on the cheek as she waited for Xoti to be far enough up the rope ladder she could safely start climbing as well. “That’s for salvaging my little sidetrip.”
“My pleasure,” Konstanten chuckled. He glanced up as Xoti climbed over the ship rail and gave Adela a wink.”Even if we were lost for a couple minutes in there.”
She laughed--”Your secret’s safe with me”--and started up the ladder.
Kicking off Watcher Wednesday this week with a group picture of @queen-scribbles‘s lovely Adi, and her crew! You can read more about her over at her character tag.
