“How scandalous priestess. Not in front of the children now. The lack of class, I am so disappointed.”
@korarus &&. said... Gently hands a sango pearl. Geology.
. . . oh —— ?
in the past, albedo had thumbed through the occasional text that spoke of the pearls of watatsumi island. the alchemist never had the opportunity to study them in person; they were a bit difficult to acquire —— a shame, in hindsight. if even half of the tales regarding their unique ( and eye-catching ) properties were to be believed, they carried a veritable wealth of secrets. ( just waiting to be uncovered . . . ) of course, there was no shortage of topics to capture his attention in the meantime, but the mystery of watatsumi island had made itself at home in the back of his mind. almost like a book waiting to be cracked open on a rainy day.
as a result . . . to say albedo was fascinated by the sample that had practically fallen into his hands was an understatement. seconds ticked by in silence as he studied the pearl —— eyes fixed upon its lustrous surface as though held in place by some ( invisible ) magnetic force. ah, wait. didn’t he have company?
❝ my apologies; i was lost in thought. ❞ a blink, then, ❝ did you know the color of a pearl is determined by the host’s genetics? ❞ presumably their unusual hue could be traced back to watatsumi's coral . . .
Protective Prompts -Accepting!! @korarus
A brief pause, light azure gaze shifting towards the one who had spoken to them. Eivor instantly took note of her appearance and studied her quietly - but didn’t take too long to not reply to her offer. A small nod was given, smile tugging at the corner of their lips. How could they deny a friend on land they had just wandered in on? ❝I would not mind having a friend or alley on these lands. I am Eivor of the raven clan.❞

Before him water formed, raising in a small pillar to stop the harbinger from stepping forward, glistening under the inazuman sun. The sound of gentle splashing followed as the priestess of watatsumi island emerged from it, arms crossed over her chest as ombre eyes glare. Her usual calm and content expression changed with pursed lips - bitter. " This wasn't our agreement. I only allowed your act upon my people because you were meant to stick to your word" Her eyes narrowed further, anger. She wouldn't have allowed the distribution of delusions so easily if she had been aware of his betrayal. The lesser evil. "So what happened. It has come to my attention that your colleague was slain by the Shogun."
“How kind of you to see me off, priestess.” The jester smiles, as if flattered and completely oblivious to what her accusations are for when truly he knows all too well. He shrugs his shoulders as she goes on about their agreement and surely he did swear such a thing, but that agreement wasn’t for his sake but for the organization of the Fatui’s sake. As it stands at the moment he quite honestly doesn’t care about the Fatui anymore, not when he’s been given what he’s been secretly wanting all this time. “My act?” He inquires curiously. “You allowed it to happen and you want to point a finger at me to make yourself feel better? I thought you better than this. Own up to your,” he uses her own words, “peoples’ death courtesy of your choices.” He laughs and adjusts his hat over his head.
“You never made a deal with me, priestess. You made a deal with the Fatui,” he educates her, wagging his finger and then resting his hand over his medallion. “I was merely the messenger. The agreement is still very much underway. Nothing has changed, I am merely excusing myself since I’ve got more important things to do. Find yourself a new middle man and you’ll be just fine.” He conveniently leaves out how the traveler discovered the factory and thus the location becoming compromised and having to have production there abandoned. “I thought yourself a master strategist, this is all child’s play for you isn’t it? You need me not to hold your hand and walk you through things right? Haha,” he laughs.
“Oh my, really?” He questions with fake surprise at the mention of Signora’s demise. “That’s truly unfortunate. What happened may have been that she got bested and that’s nobody’s fault but her own for being incompetent. Now if you’ve nothing else to waste my time with, I’ll be taking my leave. Best regards priestess!” He waves and casually paces past her. All of this silly mortal to mortal and entities melodrama is beneath him now. He’s done his role, on to bigger and better things: himself.
