Masters, and the universe
The EP is being mastered right now and as soon as we get the final master then we will announce the release date! We are so thrilled about that. Getting this out to you has taken a lot longer than we had expected, but we wanted to make sure we gave you something great and we think that this will have been worth the wait. Of course, as we get set to release these songs in EP form, we have already written the rest of the record and are planning to finish the full length album within the next couple months. This week we are going back into the studio to record our new Christmas song, "Christmas in My Heart" which will be out before December.
Some thanks-- we have been very fortunate to have gotten to work with some of the world's finest musicians on these recordings. On "Better Life", MAJOR THANKS to Ross Hogarth for advising us, Kenny Aronoff for the epic, moving drums, Tim Pierce for making us cry with such tasteful guitars, Stevie Blacke for emotional, beautiful strings and for letting us cut vocals at his studio, Spencer Wright for keeping the low end tight on bass, and Justin Hind for mixing the track and listening to our 15 pages of notes.
On all the other tracks, MAJOR THANKS to Aaron Sterling for the hippest drums we've ever heard, Curt Schneider for killin' it on bass and letting us take over his studio for a day, Jimmy McGorman for playing every freakin instrument he owns and doing it so well, Robb Vallier for his ears and for letting Jim play every instrument he owns, and Chris Thompson for engineering and mixing this project. We also have to say thanks to Jimmy and Robb for co-writing a bunch of the songs with us. Their ears and inspiration are unparalleled. Every day we wrote together was a joy.
Some other thanks go to our close friend and photog extraordinaire Suzanne Teresa for shooting our album cover and a ton of our other shots. Her work is great! Check out her work at stphotoworks.com . We are so glad to have her in the U.S.A.
Also, MASSIVE thanks to Shara Senderoff for her support, for helping us see this project thru -- in many ways, and for the work her folks at Intern Sushi have done to help.
Thank you all.
