Writer Thought Block- Once Upon a Dream

So I wanted to start doing a sort of ‘behind the scenes’ to my WIPs and this is my first segment!

For those of you who haven’t checked out this work, it’s my Sleeping Beauty AU Bagginshield doc on AO3, and one of the things I really wanted to explore was Fae culture. And how hobbits are “Halflings” (half-fae). So I constantly reference what I call the “Nine Unnegotiable Laws of the Fae” which are 9 rules I picked and altered from different sources on Fae lore and for any numerology fans I incorporated that too!

The Unnegotiable Laws of the Fae

Do not give up your Name, less you are prepared to consent your power to another.

If the Law of Hospitality is called upon, the Host must show their Guest the upmost respect until their business is complete.

You can never lie to another living being.

Fae Blood bleeds true. No matter how miniscule, if you have Fae in your lineage, you are bound to the Laws.

The right to Dream is to be respected in all beings.

Children are a precious Gift, and shall never be the subject of direct harm.

Any act of Kindness or Mercy must be returned with a Favor of your own.

A Contract signed is to be upheld to the fullest extent of its Wording.

The Law of Nature cannot be opposed under any circumstances.

Feel free to borrow if you want! I’m a little stuck right now because I made a mistake in a previous chapter I have to go back an fix before I can move forward.  😅

This costume is so extra and I’m loving it. The appliques on the collar/bertha took about a week to hand sew into place and I (of course) had to add around 200 Swarovski crystals. I just need to interface the lining and hand sew them in place. Then onto the beaded, bedazzled and appliqued peplum. I love hand sewing so much :)
