No extra Sherlock in Korea

KBS1 has finally published their actual listings for Monday 1/23, and there‘s no Sherlock on the schedule.  (I also checked KBS2 for good measure.)

One of the third-party TV guides cited previously still shows an episode happening (albeit with no details, as we’ve seen elsewhere), but this one, which did list it yesterday, now does not.

The show airing at 23:40 on 23/1 on KBS1 is “고고학의 비밀을 찾아서 - 1부 대 피라미드“, “Treasures Decoded - The Great Pyramid”, which is a real series.

FYI about Korean TV schedules

Reporting from the ground.  This is inconclusive, but make of it what you will.

I asked a few colleagues earlier when those posts first started circulating, and they thought it meant that the subtitled version of Sherlock S4 would start airing on the next three Mondays.  Previously KBS1 have shown the dubbed version, with the subtitled episode repeating the following Sunday on KBS2.  (There’s a lot of controversy over dubbing here.)  The Monday entry is is labeled in the same format (”New Year’s Special Season 4″) as normal, but is tagged as having subtitles (i.e. breaks the pattern).

Another colleague just said she doesn’t think this makes sense, though, and she assumes the schedule entry is a mistake.  They wouldn’t repeat a drama on KBS1 at this time of year (her opinion).

Both major search engines’ TV guides include the listing.  The official KBS.co.kr listing for the 23rd is not accessible yet.

There are no recent news headlines here about it, and the only blog posts I found mentioning it are quoting tumblr.

Maybe some of the fluent Korean speakers on here can tell you more.  Meanwhile, I leave you to your deductions...

Hi pt.1

So I kind of abandoned this blog. It wasn't intentional, but there wasn't really anything I wanted to say for a while. Some of the shows I said I would finish - I did, and some - I didn't. Overall, I didn't really want to say anything about the ones I finished as I saw no need for it. People were already expressing thoughts similar to mine, so I left it at that.

With life things piling up my desire to consum Korean content, as I usually do, slowly decreased. It started feeling like I've already seen it all and there wasn't really anything new that could make me excited. Of course, this is a natural cycle in my life. I swear this always happen and I can't be the only one.

Anyways, recently I've been getting back to it. I've caught up on a lot of things. I've discovered some new things I enjoy. (Not neccessarily Korean content.) Life has been moving on and the cycle has started once again.

I've made a list of new things I want to (maybe) watch. Nothing is decided yet, I don't know what I'll actually end up watching.

I've always wanted to do music recommendations, but those aren't easy to do. However. I am trying to come up with a fun way to do this, so we will see.

I just want to ramble about things.
