3. "Bury A Friend" please, I got attached to the baby gays
(whoops, why is this snip so long--)
Korg fought to catch his breath and tried not to question why they ended up laying on the floor, why Lor was still holding onto him, and why he wasn’t trying to get away. “...It’s just a thing that happens when people touch each other sometimes!” He hissed, not as harshly as he could have though, Lor’s thumbs were still near the danger zone. Well. one of the danger zones.
Lor giggled. “That’s hilarious. That’s just…what a ridiculous thing to evolve. What is wrong with your species?”
“Shut up! It's not just my species, it’s actually pretty common among organisms in one way or another.”
“Please, my people could never be so ridiculous or undignified.”
“Was there a point in their entire history where they weren't those two things!?” Korg winced. His big mouth. He quickly tried to figure out if it was even possible to stock up on air when he heard Lor laugh again. Quieter this time.
“You…may have a point, actually. Krypton didn’t fail because the council was doing too good of a job, after all. Part of my father’s goal is to make us less ridiculous, more focused. Brave of you to say it though, especially when at my mercy.”
“If you only do things when you’re in control, nothing gets done.” Korg, why do you keep--
Korg’s breath hitched when he felt Lor’s chin bump his shoulder. “I do want to keep you around, I think. You’d probably be good company to have--counsel! Good counsel to have!”
“Lor…” He took a deep breath. “I don’t know if I can--”
Lor gripped him tighter. “From what I understand, you spawned under a pile of garbage and crawled your way up to the point where you were able to tell Sinestro to get bent, and lived.”
“That’s not exactly what–”
“Shhhh, it’s close enough.”
Korg chuckled lightly. “That only worked because you were distracting him with your suicide attempt–”
“Which you talked him out of completing.”
“So maybe staying together keeps us both alive.”
