Underused Characters: Helluva Boss

Hey guys!

It’s been a while since I did something like this, but I decided to make a series of post about characters they’re very minor and don’t really get talked about very much. 

I mean, I love the main characters of the show shows but is the mystery, design, and personalities of these minor characters that draws to me for some reason and sometimes I add them in my story and give them their own personalities as well as interact with characters either mine or the main ones.

And of course, I’m gonna start off with the most popular show right now: Helluva Boss.

Now, I’m not gonna add ones like Barbie, Wally, Mammon, Verosika, Vassago, and etc because they’re already part of the cast, and they got quite a bit of screen time and popularity as it is. The ones I’m gonna be really focusing on the ones who are only had like one or two episodes with minimal to almost no dialogue, but they’re very interesting to the part of the episode as well as involvement of some of the main characters.

But please don’t complain if you’re expecting some of the other minor characters, but don’t see them on here. Everybody’s in town to their own opinion and this way I want my post to go.

Also for some that aren’t a given names, me and my good friend @thecat620 gave them names when we used them in our stories. We can change them if they’re officially given any names, but for the time being, this is what we name them.

Here we go!

1. Oliver

Obviously, I’m not gonna leave our favorite little Fizz fan out of this. 

Oliver is such a good boy. We see him at the clown pageant in “Mammons Special” where he gets to meet his idol, Fizzarolli, in person.

He was so happy to see him and his face lit up when Fizz called him over and spoke to him in sign language before and after the show.

In my personal opinion, Fizz and Ozzie should adopt the boy and help him out with his hearing loss. They would be good parents and I can see Blitz as a fun uncle.

Also me and my good friend, @thecat620, have him adopted in our stories on archive of our own.

2. Jesse the Bouncer

Jesse is an interesting character and seems to take his job very seriously.

But he’s also respectful to people as long as you respect him and follow the rules.

I would love to know more about him and see him more at Ozzie’s or interacting with his boss because I could see him being friends with him and maybe Fizz. 

3. Benny, Russ & Gigi

Benny, Russ & Gigi look like very fun characters in “Queen Bee” and I want to see them hanging out with Loona more. ^^

They look like the kind of friends who would want to cheer you up when you’re feeling down.

Benny is what I named the Wolf/Siberian Husky looking hellhound and it seems like he has a crush on Loona.

We didn’t seem him with the others in Sinsmas but hopefully we’ll see him again.

4. Riley

Riley seems like an interesting character to me even though he wasn’t in the short, “Barbie’s Bad Day”, very long.

I like his design and his voice. He would’ve made a very interesting side character in the show. ^^

Also, I don’t pair him with that sheep demon because as y’all saw from the shot, he didn’t last very long because they kept fighting even though they made out once.

And I actually ship him with someone else; Barbie Wire.

Now before y’all go crazy, let me explain. I think Barbie and Rylie go on and off with whoever they decide to date and they might change it up if they met.

I mean they’re both tough and when I put them together, I see them as a better match. It honestly, I don’t ship Barbie with Kendra at all. It just doesn’t click with me.

Now, if you don’t like my type of Shipping, that’s fine, but don’t hate me for it. Everybody’s entitled to their own opinions in terms of Shipping and I don’t want anybody getting dramatic about it.

Okay? Good.

5. Better than Blitzø Guy (Keith)

I named him Keith because he was only called by what his shirt said and Keith seems to fit him.

And yes, I know he was kissing Stolas in “Apology Tour” but what if it was just a one time thing?

I mean they both could’ve been drunk or it was a sudden impulse or something.

And besides, Keith seems like a nice guy and he was so sweet to compliment and comfort Stolas when he was sad.

I can see him and Stolas just being friends and staying in contact with each other. Although, Blitz might get a little jealous. XD XD 



6. Lust Shop Keepers

These two are very interesting characters from “Full Moon” and they both work in Lust.

My good friend, @thecat620, thought of some names for them in her stories.

Lex- The candleheaded demon is interesting because he cares about the mood and tries to get Blitz to talk more about what kind of mood he'd want with Stolas since there's more to Lust than just sex.

Maxx- The spider demon is very thourough with his work and has a lot of options. he isn't judgemental and is actually really helpful to his clients

Honestly, I hope we see them again because they seem very friendly with their clientele and they could be useful characters in the future.



7. Mrs. Mayberry

Mrs. Mayberry was a teacher in life and I believe she is still a good teacher even though she’s a demon now.

I think she became a teacher in Hell and while it’s not the same as the class she taught back on Earth, but maybe it’ll feel like closure to her.

And she probably still has her kind and cheery nature, but she’s also a little bitter after what happened with Martha and her cheating husband.

8. Cletus, Keenie, and Collin.

Okay, in a way I’m kind of cheating since they have the news before, but they’re not used enough in my opinion.

It’s just that we haven’t seen much of what they’re up to since that big battle with IMP after they got banished from heaven.

All we know is that Cletus and Keenie are starting to lose their minds as well as their moral compass while Collin is trying to keep them together.

Working with DHORKS it’s very interesting and funny at the same time because it’s like working with team rocket from Pokémon. lol

Gimme some more underused main characters from animation..

Characters in the main cast who have untapped potential, you keep thinking as you watch “what about them?”

If nothing else, Kingsman 2 had good fanfiction material. Throughout the movie I was thinking “there’s a good story somewhere but I’m not watching it”.

You know, when I watch a show I always find that one character, that I always believe deserved better. Whether it be a main character or just a background character that shows up here and there, no matter the type of show, I’ll always find that one character that the writers don’t do much with or use to their full potential and they will be the one character I’ll focus on and the next thing I know I’m imagining a whole story that focuses on this character.

Fandom Frustration--Carolyn, Under the Dome

This seems to be a place for fans to express frustration at stupid TV writers who can do better, so here I am, unloading.

I don’t want to post too many spoilers, but I am getting miffed over many things regarding “Under the Dome.” Yes, I know I get the show for free in terms of money, but in terms of my time and attention, I can only spend so much! This show is getting far too “busy,” in a way that has made it gone off the rails. Continuity is apparently against the writers’ religion. For instance, they seem to have forgotten that Barbie killed Julia’s husband before becoming her man, Junior imprisoned his ex-girlfriend, and Norrie was just passing through Chester’s Mill when the Dome came down.  Pretty much every character who wasn’t white, straight, and thin has been killed off. And this leads me to a favorite from Season 1: Carolyn.

Carolyn Hill is Norrie Calvert-Hill’s mother. She was married to Alice Calvert, Norrie’s biological mother. Norrie is white; Carolyn is black. (I found her soft-butch presentation rather attractive.) Early in Season 1, Alice died because she was an insulin-dependent diabetic and she’d packed only a few days’ worth of insulin, not expecting a freakin’ unbreakable transparent dome to keep her trapped in a small New England town.

The Calvert-Hill family came from Southern California, and was driving to New England to transport Norrie to a tough love camp for troubled girls. They were professionals—Alice was a therapist, and Carolyn was an entertainment lawyer. They are the only parents Norrie had known her entire life. As the car was driving through Chester’s Mill, Norrie and her mothers were having an argument about Norrie’s fighting with other girls and texting nude pics of herself, and then down came the Dome. In fact, it seemed that the tough love camp was Carolyn’s idea, and that she was the strict one in the family. But after Alice died, Carolyn has only appeared sporadically. This seemed strange to me—wouldn’t one want her only remaining parent at a time like this, and the other want a surviving remnant of her spouse?

I understand that Aisha Hinds, the actress who brought Carolyn to life, has worked on other projects. However, it seems strange that we hardly ever see her in Chester’s Mill anymore. (She appeared in the first episode of this season, and then disappeared again.) I do not know whether it is lesbophobia, racism, sexism, the Disney-esque notion that mothers are the enemies of teenage adventure, or something else. However, it’s just one more reason why the series really should have ended in one season.

Last night’s episode, “Alaska,” was especially galling. Norrie is not accepting the programming that most of the town has received from evil anthropologist-or-something Christine. (“Say what?” you ask if you dropped off during Season 2. Again, I say, it’s too busy now.) Christine is accusing her of deliberately harming another character. She says she needs to “help” Norrie. This might be a time when a teenage girl desperately wants her mother, especially if that mother’s a lawyer and she’s used to her going into Mama Bear mode. But she never even looks around for Carolyn, much less asks for her. Carolyn isn’t even in the crowd.  

As another Twittering fan pointed out, it would have been much creepier had Carolyn been in the crowd, so thoroughly brainwashed that she believed Christine over her daughter or told Norrie to go with Christine. Carolyn fighting alongside her daughter, for her, would have been interesting as well. But no, Under the Dome’s writers shunned these possibilities, ignoring a good story as well as continuity and how human relationships work.

I am losing patience with this show for a number of other reasons, but this kind of encapsulates its many problems right there. I am a completist, an “in for a penny, in for a pound” sort of person—I need to complete a series and see how a story ends. I don’t think I care so much what happens to Chester’s Mill and the people in it anymore, though. It’s clear that the writers really don’t either.
