The retcon of Nightcrawler's origins has issues on every level, to the point it would be a blatant lie to say a cocktail of homophobia, biphobia and racism weren't included while at it
It turned what was otherwise a healthy lesbian relationship into a relationship so abusive it would make the Joker and Harley Quinn's blush just to capitalise on the most blatant example of a fetish origin story which felt the need to retcon futanari where it wouldn't work with the characters involved
It basically stumped to the ground any remains of bisexuality Mystique ever had after Krakoa mostly waved off every relationship she's had with men as never being real and totally an act compared to what she had with Destiny and the retcon confirming it even harder
It turned a Romani woman who canonically rescued an abandoned child out of the kindness of her heart for 40 years now into an abusive child-kidnapper to make two white Austrian women the only victims of this new origin story as the Romani woman now stole their white baby from them to use him for her own gain and would have kept him hidden away from them if they ever tried looking for him (hey marvel, Esmeralda called : she wants her racist origin story from the book back). Mystique also described Azazel's physical mutation, you know the one his mutant race has, as ugly and disgusting but finds Nightcrawler beautiful when he inherited everything from Azazel, from that mutant race, minus his skin colour as he has Mystique's... And both of Nightcrawler and Mystique are coincidentally pastel white when depowered. So the racism in the retcon is both real and metaphorical which is the opposite of a power move in 2023 especially with Nightcrawler accepting both comments when he's concerned by both

You hit the nail here! Like, if marvel truly cares for lesbians and wants a lesbian wedding NOW there couple of others ships they could have used. And sure let's go with "but mystique x Irene are the most popular ones" ok, why use the retcons? Bc as you said it makes Harley x Joker look bland in comparison. (It makes me think if Irene wanted to fuck Azazel but never got the chance so she pimp her "gf") It also invalidates Raven's sexuality and her previous partners.
Also ....for folks who say joker x Harley are abusive...they really turn their heads about YURI version of this ship dynamic. Which well, it's a choice. I know another lesbian ship, from another fandom that is so like Harley x Joker but people see it as something so cute ...
I hate how Margalia was this evil woman bc ofc right? I even hate the Kurt x Amanda bc it takes away the chance of Kurt having a normal family. Surprising enough, you can't date your sister and still see her as one. Which is worse as Amanda doesn't care for him at all.
Also....in all those years, Kurtty couldn't happen bc????? There a joke about how in the future Kurt and Kitty got together and had a baby, the joke is how Piotr is still indecisive about his feelings.

So glad 2026 is coming, 2025 was my most challenging one so far, and I dissappeared from the Poolverine fandom for quite a lot of it to survive everything life threw at me.🥹 But I still adore Wade and Logan, so I'm back, hopefully for good this time🥰

It’s not exactly a “good will hunting” au I just thought that dialogue would work for an au where Logan took remy in when he was 14, but I’ll still talk about it!
I would love to hear other thoughts people may like to share as well!
-when he and Logan are out, he always wears sunglasses to hide his eyes, partly for people to not know he’s a mutant but partly bc he’s insecure about his eyes
-he’ll even still where sunglasses with Logan for a bit until he’s comfortable around him, Logan didn’t want to pry about it
-he’s still a great thief and pickpocketer, Logan is impressed by but tells him to keep it at minimum so they don’t get in trouble, he would steal little things they needed but also little trinkets for logan that he still has to this day
-he sees Logan’s cage fights and thinks it’s the coolest thing ever and asks Logan to train him to fight like that (this would likely change his fighting style when he’s older, still has his cards but his hand to hand is more boxing )
-they get into fights when remy does something stupid that can get him hurt that would be something Logan would do. Logan’s a very “do as I say, not as I do” bc while he does stupid shit, he has a healing factor that remy doesn’t
-remy would have nightmares where he would wake up in a panicked state, his eyes glowing, having a hard time controlling his power, but Logan comforts him, rubs his back until he’s calm. Remy’ll hug him tightly for a minute and let go, it was like a thanks
-when they join the xmen, Logan is remys number one supporter, the classic “if anything happens to him I will kill everyone in this
-in this au, remy would still likely have the same accent he has when he’s older but he’s not as in touch with his Cajun roots but still knows a lot
Next headcanons are if jubilee was in the weapon x facility at 5 with them
-remy would die for jubilee, barely met her and decided that she is his sister now
-he shows her how to play all the card games he knows and lets her win sometimes when she’s young
-he loves making her happy with the card tricks he knows and the shuffling
-will steal little toys for her to play with
-he’ll hide if he’s hurt or sick so he wouldn’t worry jubilee or logan but is ultamitley forced to take a break
-when he’s older, he hides his smoking from them as well to not worry them and also to prevent second from for jubilee and so jubilee won’t try to do it as well
-like siblings they fight of course, when jubilees older remy will be a little rougher like putting her head in a headlock and stuff like that, and it’ll be over stupid shit like what tv show they should watch
