the cosmic clouds part as I pass between them, a shadow of light, a maw of hunger amidst the endless eternities. My entity is vast, dwarfing the mightiest red giants as I drift thru the darkness, searching for prey. There! In the distance I spy a nursery nebula and in its cradle my quarry: a Star Dragon. Dispersing my form into oblivion I hide in the void as ever so slowly I drift towards the dragon. It’s too busy fussing with the star dust tapestry in front of it to notice as I draw near, my dark tendrils blotting out the stars as I regain my form. Drawing back my hook I taking aim. I have one shot and if I miss... I dare not think about the hunger of a dying star. Not a sound is made as I wind up and let loose my hook, its dark, umbral hue making it invisible to all but the one it seeks. The Star Dragon barely has time to react as the hook plunges into its form, searing spirit and flesh as it forces the beast into a corporeal form. I can taste the cosmic fear, licking my lips as I yank on the chain, making the dragon cry out in agony. Silly beastie, no one can hear you scream out here. Starry ichor flows freely from the gaping hook wound into the endless void and I begin to hasten my pulling. There are other terrors besides myself among the stars, entities so vast and hungry they could swallow my essence and half this galaxy whole without a second thought. I need to hurry..
