Nearly choking on my lunch at the revelation I just had about my WIP series. Wanting to do a prequel about Andy's mother but instead realizing a story that I wrote when I was like fourteen would work perfectly as Xander’s mother's origin story and work equally as well for the prequel...
...and as I wrote this, I realized that they fit together and happen simultaneously. I could write it as a split POV prequel that shows not-so-obviously that Xander and Andy were meant to meet and inevitably would end up in each others' lives.

Brief story: Known as a skilled fighter, Korianna trained with both Jamon and other members of the Obsidian guard upon her arrival at the QG as a young teen, having gained a love for weapons and the art of fighting. As Jamon’s apprentice, she inherited his views on violence as means of defense: aim to immobilize, never to kill. She listed herself available as a bodyguard for hire in the QG’s marketplace, having caught Miss Klarsmon’s attention while she was visiting. Miss Klarsmon had already heard of Korianna’s reputation as both a skilled and compassionate fighter, thus deciding to take her to Opharax, a land fairly close to the QG where her business is located, and have her serve first as a general security guard, then as her personal bodyguard a year later. Her spear and clothing were tailored especially for her, under Miss Klarsmon request. Since moving to Opharax two years ago, she grew closer to Asa, having an incredible amount of reverence and loyalty towards her, although still managing to be playful if the situation calls for it. She lives at the residential area of Miss Klarsmon’s business, alternating between her bedroom and Asa’s.
lol our party cleric straight up killed my rogue (korianna, the one with the cursed dagger and the voice) because she told the truth and admitted she made a warlock pact with the clerics antigod
but anyways, whatever that thing that killed pike pre-stream in critical role then took over my body and morphed it into its own so now my party, already tired from a fight, has to fight that and they’re only level 5 and I’m like :))) KARMA, BITCH
my dm told me what the resolution of her backstory would've been at least, so I get to know how it would've ended but yeah. pretty shitty that my fav girl got killed by a party member but. can't do anything now but roll a new character

she has such a good, pure heart and wants to help everyone but she has a logical, calculating mind and that makes it hard. she has never killed anything. she likes to put her emotions away when she does her work or has hard decisions but she was unable to hurt her father figure despite what he did

part of the thieves guild named “raven’s shadow” in her home city
her mother is a senior assassin member of the guild and her father was a mark that her mother was hired to kill (and she did, but fucked him first)
korianna was born and raised in the guild and has been there her whole life
she had an affair with a (married) senior member of the guild (whos a girl bc Gay) and the senior members husband was also a member so it was SUPER on the downlow
it was almost exposed by a newly recruited guild member, but korianna killed the member as they did a job and made it look like an accident had happened to the poor rookie
it was v tense between her and the lady she was having an affair with after they were almost caught so to get away from it and the suspicion from her mother and about the death she has taken some time away from the guild
now she’s travelling doing odd jobs to earn money
personality:
she’s very blunt and to the point, very abrasive if you’re not used to her. growing up around paid thieves and killers doesn’t tend to give you the best social skills
while she’s smart (high int), she isnt very wise (very low wis) as she is not fully able to comprehend the consequences of her actions at times, she acts on pure instinct which isnt always the best idea
