“Shin?”

The assassin snapped out of his gaze. He tilted his head up and looked at Karasuma. Either it was because of the warmth of the sunshine cascading into the room, or the relaxing scent of the coffee, or the man’s gentle gaze, Karasuma looked more mesmerizing than Shinigami remembered.

It was no wonder he captured the hearts of many women, although the elite soldier didn’t seem to realize it himself.

“Yes, Karasuma?” Shinigami stretched his hand out to fetch a mug on the shelves — Karasuma’s mug. “How would you like your coffee? Black as usual?”

As the Japanese nodded, Shinigami poured the black liquid into the mug and slid it towards the other. God of Death picked a cube of sugar from the container and held it between his fingers.

“Karasuma, I think a hint of sweetness in your coffee would be good.” Before the man could deny his offer, Shinigami dropped the sugar cube into the coffee. The assassin tilted his head aside with a playful smile. “It balances out the bitterness. Don’t you think so?”

He expected the uptight workaholic to frown at his actions. Instead, Karasuma heaved out a sigh and shook his head, a small smile curved up on the thin line of his lips.

‘Gosh, he looked even more charming when he smiled.’ The thought ran across Shinigami’s mind as his heart skipped.

“Fine.” Karasuma muttered, his eyes focused on Shinigami. “I would take your recommendation. Sugar in my coffee, please.”
