Same energy
Get you a girlfriend that busts you out of prison and saves you from dying in the desert by building a new vehicle from the scraps of the airship that you crashed <3.
“Sorry babe, I can’t come over. I’m busy fighting my subconscious’ projection of my doubts and fears. This will take a while”,
“You see what I did there? I put a sock in it. Literally”
“Classic Bolin”.
Wait, is that all? Zaheer, I still need to know what’s your deal! Did your plan of making a new world order only consisted on killing all the world leaders + the Avatar and see what happened? So you mostly were talking pseudo philosophical mumbo-jumbo with no real substance behind it? How many people are in the Red Lotus? How did you get all those guys agree with your vision? Is this really all there is? What about-?
“Let’s put a sock on it!”
Whatever, classic Bolin. Let’s move on, I guess.
I was going to make a dumb comment about the homoerotic tension of sparring, but seriously this scene tells us a lot about the characters. First, Korra is able to calm down and apologize instead of letting herself lost in her anger. That’s what I call character development. I think she could had gotten there sooner but then season 2 happened and she was sent back to square 1. At least in this season they are allowing her to grow, she stills has flaws but she’s also more keen on working on them.
Second of all, Asami always speaks up when something is bothering her and she’s sincere and open about what she feels and what she wants. She doesn’t let others step over her. We’ve seen her confronting her father and Mako before and it’s good to see her being that way with Korra. She tells her that she’s going too far and Korra is able to listen. I think this could be something that works well in their relationship. Korra has learned to be more mindful of others feelings and Asami isn’t afraid to speak her mind to the Avatar.
Friends hug!
In today’s Korraposting we’re roasting the Beifongs! (joking) Let’s start:
(Note: Remember I’m just halfway through season 3)
Opal: A perfectly nice young lady, reminds me of Jinora. There’s an untold character arc here. If she became an Airbender it means that she was originally a non-bender. Imagine this girl from a very respected line of earth benders and metal benders but she just can’t bend. This must have shaped her self image and her relationship with the rest of her family. We see Bolin feeling bad for not being able to metal-bend, but imagine how did Opal feel about it before discovering her own gift. I wonder if there’s more about her and her story on season 4.
Lin: Glad that she had something to do this season. Lady has many issues that she needs to work on, she’s like Tenzin in that way. Her problem if that she just can’t let go of certain things, no wonder others keep taunting her with Tenzin even if the whole thing happened like 20 years ago. I liked that she’s taking steps to solve her family situation. She also really needs to talk to her mom.
Suyin: She’s a girlboss. An empowered woman who thinks herself as the architect of her own destiny but she wouldn’t be where she is now if it wasn’t for her mom and her mom’s fortune. At least it is implied that she has matured and is a more better person now. I liked that she taught Korra how to metal-bend, it didn’t occur to me that that could be possible.
Toph: A Queen, but we already know that. However, it is indeed weird that she went to create the police of all things. I can see Lin becoming part of the police and that causing a rift with her family. But I can’t believe that Toph who appreciates freedom above all things and is dismissive towards rules would be part of the police. Instead, I would had imagined her doing exactly what Suyin did: making her own city and creating a metal bending academy. On the other hand, I hadn’t watched ATLA in a while so I may be wrong about Toph.
I really would like to see a Beifong family reunion and see them talking about their problems and stuff, that would be really fun considering that all these women have very strong personalities.
