ugh tumblr mobile fucked up the text post (of course!) but there's a good reply that does a bttr job than I did
Jhenne, is it weird that while I love korrasami - I would read all the fanfic and save all the fanart - I feel like bryke is trying to be all smug about the korra finale? It could have gotten much better development (the whole show could have been better) and all; but now it's just these two white dudes (and they have done stupid things in the past) trying to pat each other on the back?
i didn’t necessarily get “smug” from the two things I just reblogged (assuming that’s what you’re referring to specifically.)
and like I have 23 pages of hard side eye but ionno i feel like their intent w/ the canonization of korrasami was sincere (and that bry post admitted it could have gotten better development, so it’s nice that they are aware on at least some level.)
Idk I’ve talked about my feelings in depth already it’s in my tag.
This specific incident felt less like “good job bro we’re so rad /HIGH FIVE” and more like clarifying bc there’s still ambivalence in the fandom and the media that’s covering the finale. I’m glad they gave some insight/context, bc it is a big deal. (Do I still wish this advancement came from a different source/stronger show that didn’t fumble their equally influential/important/formative main character? Hell yah. This doesn’t shift my opinion about that.)
I will say that I’m very glad that they clarified the relationship status. I really appreciate that.
hi, jhenne! Sorry, but i pretty much stopped watching Korra a while ago, and now there's this finale? so, is it good? bad? was the season good? bad? Should i watch it? I really like and trust your opinions so i wondered if you could nudge me in the right direction? Was something wrong with the season/finale, or should i just watch it for the korrasami?
Y'KNOW, I'm glad I watched it for closure, above all else.
I caught the last three episodes of this Book, so I can't tell you about the whole of the season :P
Plus it was beautifully animated and the music was great and the fight scenes were excellently choreographed. So if you're on the fence, you might as well. If you do't want to, don't, haha. Like I'm glad I did, but if someone was at the point where they didn't care to, I wouldn't try to convince them to, ya'dig?
Hope that helps~ :]
Apparently from what I'm hearing Makorra shippers really mad Makorra was not end game? Pressed? Feeling denied? Curved by Bryke?
... yeah now you know how those who shipped Zutara felt.
And the Borra shippers are like 'this is TOTALLY okay with me'.
I'm wondering (if you don't mind) if you could explain how you think bryke messed up with Korra?
luckily, I have painstakingly chronicled (some!) of the ways I clutch my hair at them.
#brykeitis/chrono
all of it
all twenty three pages of it
