anyway here's kory and raven in teen titans: earth one, a story where i was only paying attention to this happening. it's important to note that once they approach the bonfire at the end of the second book holding hands, they continue to hold hands until the story fades out. which could mean nothing (they are literally fucking soulmates)

obsessed with the potential for angst and envy in kory and raven’s relationship, whether that relationship is platonic or romantic. for raven envying kory for being able to express her feelings, for not fearing her feelings, or feeling guilty about them, for everything that implies. for kory envying raven because rather than trading away her daughter to a horrible fate for peace, raven’s mother abandoned her home and the ideals that had saved her at a very low point in her life to protect her daughter. but the each care about each other so much and are glad the other person had this thing that was denied to them, but it doesn’t erase the occasional stab of envy they wish they could erase.
