i was thinking about how titans look so off balance when they put up their bubble and it fascinated me. like they do it with their palms, as if they're holding their hands out to stop something. and it got me thinking abt my titans, specifically Free and Clement. and i think free would have more of a physically grounded martial arts sort of battle style because of his background as a gladiator and a psion. his barricades don't last long but he can put them up quickly and in more places than just Wall On The Ground. i think his stance when bubbling is stronger too, like he takes a knee and lifts his arms with fists clenched like he's blocking a blow. and then i was thinking abt the kids being taught to harness their light, and how would clement's bubble work? and it occured to me that he would likely have a lot of trouble. free is a very "tough love" teacher, he's kind and compassionate when training is done but while you're in the field he is strict and intense and he will not let up until you do the exercise correctly. so clement probably gets knocked over quite a few times in his attempt until lekis and kotona start yelling and cheering him on, and when he says "i cant!" free responds "yes you can!" with such intense confidence that clement is like, in that moment, fully convinced. and he throws up a "bubble" but it looks more like a vex wall, it's square and blocky and translucient blue-white instead of purple. once he manages it free helps him up and gives him a hug and says "what you felt, in your head and in your chest, right then when the wall went up. don't ever forget it. carry it forever. that's what you fight for"
