Miroku (Inuyasha) Voice Actor Kouji Tsujitani Passes Away at the age of 56

Kouji Tsujitani, Miroku’s Japanese voice actor, passed away on October 17, 2018, at the age of 56, due to a stroke.

Tsujitani voiced Miroku in Inuyasha, as well as characters in Yu Yu Hakusho, Blood+, Hajime no Ippo, and Eureka Seven. The actor also starred in a variety of Mobile Suit Gundam titles.

Outside of voice acting, Tsujitani was also involved in sound direction. In fact, he directed work on series like Fate/stay night and Gurazeni: Money Pitch.

We will all miss him :(.

Eureka Seven, Gundam, Inuyasha Voice Actor Kouji Tsujitani Passes Away

Gurazeni: Money Pitch sound director suffered stroke on October 17

Kouji Tsujitani, the Japanese seiyuu for Dewey Novak in Eureka seveN (as well as numerous other characters in different shows) unfortunately passed away on October 17, 2018. 

He was quite young. 😞 Please honour his memory and keep his family in your thoughts during this difficult time.

We are currently mourning the loss of our Houshi Kouji Tsujitani, the Voice Actor of Miroku when it became more known online as of last night by a share from a member of our group. I was speechless. It took me all night to finally begin to even post this thing... He played the part of our perverted yet noble monk very well. There was never a time when I didn't stop to look at Miroku and not hear his voice. He passed away a few days ago from a stroke on October 17th. Here is a photo of our Miroku statue as well as the man himself.

Gundam, Inuyasha Voice Actor Kouji Tsujitani Passes Away

Tsujitani was born in Kodaira, Tokyo in 1962. After graduating from Chiba Prefectural Akibo Senior High School, he attended Butai Geijutsu Gakuin in Tokyo, and he joined the Gekidan Tōen theatrical company in 1983. Tsujitani began voice acting in anime in 1988 and played Bernard "Bernie" Wiseman in Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket in 1989. In the Gundam franchise, his other roles include Seabook Arno in Mobile Suit Gundam F91, Bernie Wiseman in Mobile Suit SD Gundam's Counterattack, and Knight Zeta in Mobile Suit SD Gundam: SD Gundam Legend. Tsujitani also voiced characters such as Miroku in Inuyasha, Tylor in The Irresponsible Captain Tylor, Kazuma Iwasaki in Stratos 4, Annote Itsuki in Yū Yū Hakusho, and Solomon in Blood+.

I was just told seiyuu Kouji Tsujitani died about a week ago, of a stroke. I know him best as Miroku (Inuyasha), Bernie Wiseman (Gundam 0080), and Azai Nagamasa (Sengoku Basara). He was also the titular Tylor of Irresponsible Captain Tylor.
