How do you currently feel about Serendine's character development?
I don’t agree with all of her recent actions but I find that she has a great development that respects the core of her character.
To elaborate a bit more, I found unfair that she didn’t say goodbye in person to the members of the Sindrian company (especially Drakon, her childhood friend) and that instead she just left them a letter announcing her departure. Also, I disapprove of her manipulating Sinbad (the guy who has helped her so much in the past)with Zepar’s help. She even made him to declare war to Partevia and Barbarossa which put him, her rest of former comrades and all the citizens of Sindria in a great risk. Furthermore, the way she treated Rotter and lead him to his death was pretty cruel.
However, I do believe that Serendine is the kind of person who would do anything to achieve her goals. That’s something she has in common with Sinbad. And she was really desperate to get her country back - which doesn’t excuse her actions but it helps to explain them. After all, it was foreshadowed from the previous arcs that Serendine would go on a darker route some day. That’s why I think that Ohtaka-sensei did a good job handling her development.
Another thing that I want to note is that usually only male characters are allowed to become anti heroes, temporary oppose our main guy and still find redemption in the end. Female characters have to either be 100% good or 100% bad most of times. I’m glad that Ohtaka-sensei broke that pattern with Serendine and allowed her to take a role that usually is forbidden to female characters. Also, I like that Serendine is the deuteragonist of this story. We follow her story from the beginning of the series and after Sinbad she’s actually the most important and influential character. Love her or hate her, fact remains that without her Sinbad no Bouken would be a totally different story.

Okay, okay, let's talk about it.
Everything’s just so
I promise I used to follow this for plot, but it just got so slow and boring around three years ago.
Just dropped by to gush about the awesomeness of those ficlets you wrote for Alikou Week. I know several Alikou fans who, like me, are just raving about the wonderful bundle of joy you dropped on our dashboards. Thank you for spreading the Alikou love. They're such a wonderful couple, the kind you'd associate with Kahit Maputi na ang Buhok Ko, etc. Again, thank you so much!
aw dude, this is so sweet! i never really interacted much with other Alikou shippers so thank you guys for the nice comments/reblogs/tags!
honestly, i started this ship week fuelled by spite (it was alikou week and ichiruki month at the same time, go figure) but like… ALIKOU IS JUST SO CUTE AND WARM AND HEALTHY AND POSITIVE the spite just downright left the building and I am left with fluffy feelings spreading the Alikou love. they’re that cute. and i actually found that i love writing them??? these are my first attempts and i enjoyed them so much???? again, thank you for reading??? aaaaaaaaaa????
and oh my god nice song choice! that song’s one of my weaknesses. my late grandpa loved it and used to make me sing it to him. ;v;) may I also suggest the Basil Valdez classic ‘You’? it fits Alibaba and Kougyoku’s relationship very much too. <3
#problems: How Suwon x Lili can work out. I've been pondering this for a week, and I still can't figure it out how this ship can possibly sail, because Suwon is such a shady character and Lili is so straightforward.
Hello, koukoi1412!
Thanks for your ask! Hm, that’s a pretty tough question! I’ve been asking that myself again and again, but it’s still hard to find a proper solution. Well, I’ll try to figure out why I ship them so hard…
First of all, I do agree that they might not have some sort of chemistry yet, but it can still change… Right now it looks like they are just on the verge of forming a cute friendship. Their current relationship is completely platonic and they sometimes behave like best bros.
But… Lili is trying to understand Soo-Won. She wants to learn more about him, including his motives and plans for the future. She also wants to know what kind of person he is, because even though he betrayed Yona and Hak in the worst form imaginable, she’s still not able to reject him. Lili is a great character and I also get the impression that she has some personality traits that make her a healthy combination of both Yona and Soo-Won. Which means while she has high morality standards and is well aware of what the cruel reality is about, she also cares for the people she loves. This doesn’t mean that Soo-Won doesn’t care for Yona and Hak (I’m sure he still does), but he’s better at hiding his true feelings and is able to make sacrifices in order to protect his kingdom. Which is again shown in chapter 136.
And this is why I think they could be a well-balanced couple. Maybe Lili is able to change Soo-Won’s opinions about leadership and emotions a bit. She could show that a king can still protect his country while not forgetting about his own feelings. In my opinion a good leader should be able to combine both… Soo-Won also tells Lili that he doesn’t know what love and romance is all about. I think she could be the person who is able to warm up his heart. Soo-Won also treats her differently than Yona. At least I get the impression.
What I really want to see is how she tries to convince him that war is not always the best solution. I can totally see that happen… It’s still not likely that he changes his opinion though. But if she decides to come with him, maybe Kouren will be a threat to Lili’s life. As we all know, Kouren would do anything to make Soo-Won suffer like she once did. So if he’s trying to safe her once again, this could show that he still hasn’t lost his human side. Which could lead to a relationship progress.
And then there’s also the teasing that comes from Lili’s father and also General Geun-Tae. While she still has the hots for him, she’s also well aware that this relationship can’t work out. Also because he’s married to Yuno. The current Lili only likes older men who are 35 and above. But let’s not forget the fact that even though Soo-Won is only 18, he mostly acts like he’s much older than he appears at first. I mean, the responsibility he has as a king is nothing that a normal 18-year-old can handle on his own. So maybe she learns to ignore the fact that he is only 18.
And last but not least, I want Soo-Won to find his own happiness when everything is over. He needs to learn what love is. Despite everything he’s done so far, I still want him to be happy.
But I guess we’ll have to wait and see if Kusanagi-sensei chooses romance or friendship. If she decides that they should only stay friends, Soo-Won could appoint Lili to be the next General of the Water Tribe. She has great leadership potential after all, so this could also be an option. Also, she’s far more capable to be a leader than Joon-Gi (sorry!). But I still hope they become a couple at the end. They’re just so cute together, I can’t help it! 😍 Please, let Soo-Won X Lili be canon! 💕
Well, that’s how I see it. Hope I could answer your question a bit… 😉
I will be your Lover. Fighter. Harder. Higher. Lover. Fighter. I wanna fight for Lover. Fighter. Under. Fire. Lover. Fighter. I wanna fight for love, love, love I wanna fight for love, love, love.
Happy birthday @koukoi1412 !!!!
So. Code Geass is getting a 3rd season and I have this nagging feeling that they're gonna butcher it. Any thoughts/expectations regarding this?
Do we have confirmed date of release or is it just a spread rumor? Because the fans have been talking about a third season for years and yet nothing has come out of it.
In case they do release a third season I’m also afraid that they will mess it up and I’m not so sure that I want to see it. Code Geass remains a story very dear to me because thanks to it I was introduced to anime in general. I still consider it one of the best anime and I keep re watching it when I’m getting nostalgia feels. That’s why I’d prefer not to start thinking any less of it due to a disappointing third season.
I know that sequels to stories are popular now days because they keeps the fandom alive and they brings more money to the creators. In a way, you can say that sequels make (almost) everyone happy. But is it worth to butcher a perfectly concluded story for the sake of continuation? Lelouch had a great arc that left not plotholes and his development came a full circle with the epic finale. What is more left to be said about him? I’m sure they will make up a situation where Lelouch, C.C and all the remaining alive characters will find something to do but that doesn’t change the fact that their story has already been told. Unless they make a spin off where none of the known characters makes an appearance- in which case they are just using Code Geass’ name to advertise their new story. In both scenarios I’m not interested.
Btw, this situation reminds me the A:tla comics. I don’t know if you have read them. I have read one or two of them (all those which were already released two years ago) and I was disappointed because they messed up the characterization of many beloved heroes just to keep the story continuing. I can see Code Geass following the same route.
Hi. It's been more than a week since...well, how do you feel about Magi at the moment? Wanna share? :)
Hello :)
Now that a week has passed I’m sort of okay with the ending. I still think it’s sloppy and bad written but there is nothing that can be do about it except from accept that magi never used its full potential and so it failed to became the great story that could have been.
Still,I had a great time in the magi fandom. I met some very interesting people, participated to some events, wrote fanfiction for the series, theorized for what was to happen next and exchanged a lot of opinions. For that, I’m grateful.
Furthermore, Magi introduced me to some great characters that I’m still not ready to part with. And to some nice fanon pairings. I’ll keep these things from the series. And thanks to magi, I was also introduced to Sinbad no Bouken, which remains one of my favourite manga series so I can’t really say that my time was wasted while reading magi/being part of its community.
That doesn’t mean that I’d recommend this series to anyone else. I still think it’s mediocre at best and there are more interesting -and underrated- manga for people to read. But personally, I had a positive experience with magi and thus I don’t think about it with ill will.
