Today I continued working on the book on Magellan and thr first circumnavigation of the globe, and I am having such a good time. The writing is amazing, it reads like a novel, I was so invested that I read 40 pages in a single study session without even realizing. The topic is really interesting, and I am learning a lot, but as I said the writing is stellar, this author is really really good. I am reading this with a map open at all times, so I can clearly follow the journey I am reading about. Having visuals is fundamental for me to understand things, and in this case especially it is fundmental for me to have a reference to understand what is happening. It feels unreal to struggle to put down a book I have to work on for uni. I have enjoyed many of my reads in the past, but reading for school is much more demanding than reading for pleasure, so I'd usually need more breaks. But this book has me glued to the pages, I cannot wait to continue reading, and I cannot wait to read more by this author.
Today's tasks:
wrote notes for the whole first chapter of the book (and surprisingly I needed less time than I had anticipated, which makes me hopeful for the rest of the book, maybe I have found a good way to take notes for this book)
finally looked for the materials for the other exam I have to study for
continued reading and underlining the book
