Finished work on the white pawn!
This guy is from the board game "Betrayal at Baulder's Gate". The first photo set is how he came out of the box, the second is with some paint on. I swear the before photos aren't in grayscale!

In an effort to upgrade our copy of Betrayal at Baulder's Gate, I am helping the box-provided colors on all the minis with some paint. Or, in the case of the drow, a lot of paint.
I forgot to take the before photos on this one, so here's a just-started view. I've already put down a little paint on the skin and loincloth, but that's all going to be used as primer.
This one took a lot of back and forth on both the skin and the leathers to get the look I wanted. Totally worth it to make the face not look like the gray mask that she started with, though!

Today, in my continuing effort to upgrade our copy of Betrayal at Baulder's Gate, I have painted a dwarf yellow.
Here are the results with the before photos inset. This guy was a challenging one to get the base coat even. Paint just didn't want to stick to him at first.

Last figure from Betrayal at Baulder's Gate is painted!
Before...
And after!
They need to be sealed and varnished to an appropriate luster, then I'll have a group photo.

Another figure from the Betrayal at Baulder's Gate board game has been upgraded! This guy took some extra time because of the lighting effects.
Here's before:

Working on upgrading the (very tiny) figures from Betrayal at Boulder's Gate. All posts for this project will be tagged #KP2023BBG.
Explore the city, discover its mystery, and face the traitor amongst yourselves....
This game comes with a set of character minis that have been partially colored with very flat tones. The box job doesn't show off the sculpt well at all.
Where it made sense I worked with existing colors, pushing the contrast to make the shapes more legible at the table. Then I colored the boots and pouches and gave the skin some love. She has no mouth 🫤 but I am in no way prepared to invent one from whole cloth at this scale!
Overall, I'm pleased with this result and plan to move on to the other figures!
