fake movies dir. by wes anderson [1/1]: Pryde and The Uncanny X Men
Dear Ms. Pryde. We are happy to extend you an offer of position at the Xavier’s Institute for Gifted Youngsters, due to the particular talents and peculiar skills you’ve displayed. Your hasty and prompt response will be much appreciated. Best, Charles Xavier. Xavier. Hard pass. Suck it, Kitty Pryde. [insp] [insp] (2022 update) [ID in alt]
me, beating on your door: eXPLAIN THE XMEN 80S AU
DROPS KICKS A WINDOW NEARBY: YOURE GONNA REGRET OPENING THIS DOOR
alright honestly- I forget if ive ever answered this in any capacity so I’m just gonna give the FULL SHALOUB; ELECTRIC BOOGALOO. so STRAP IN BUDDY BABESOkay, so basically this all strings from a stupid goof seesh with my main boy- my brother Pat- where we talking about how every big superhero happens in New York, and we thought it’d be funny if it was just happening in like… a random small, shitty Michigan town instead. Because like, let’s be real, city people would never just let shit slide, like they would kick the X Men out INSTANTLY– shitty old steel towns would want to physically fight the aliens and shit themselves and probably promote Kurt to be their mascot or something. Also, we love Kitty and especially when she first got into the mansion.Anyway meta aside: here’s the rundown. The year is 1986; and 17 year old Rogue lives in Pig Symbol, Mississippi with her adopted mother Irene, living a normal ass life. It all goes to shit though, when her powers activate during her cotillion coming out ceremony and her escort pass out after grabbing her arm. After she comes back from her episode, she freaks out and finds out Irene had been keeping her mutation a secret from her and was waiting for it to come in. In this universe, I feel like the Xavier school is sort of trying to reach out to students and have like commercials (like this) so Rogue probably has easy access to Xavier’s number, and calls him. Charles takes her to where the Mansion is based: the small town of Mackinaw in northern Michigan by Lake Superior that’s just shit hole stink place filled with beautiful idiots. At that time in the X Mansion, there are a mirage of about 70 students/wards aging from like 10-35, but namely include the Summer boys, Ororo, Jean, Hank, Jubilee, Bobby, and Kurt. Sort of like in Evo though, students have the option to go to the local school instead, which Kurt (15) and Bobby (16) both do. Rogue decides she wants to go with them to Tom Selleck High School where she meets their best friend, Kitty (16) who instantly has a crush on Rogue lmao. [oh sidenote, also, when Kurt, Bobby, and Kitty see each other it’s basically this)Rogue originally tries to keep her mutation a secret, but sees Kitty get in a fight with some of the Brotherhood Boys (this time Lance and Pietro) and phase through something. She’s confused because if Kitty’s a mutant, why isn’t she at the Mansion? As it turns out, Charles has been trying to get Kitty to join the X Team for years, but she keeps rejecting him because she’s “got better stuff to do, also you’re really bad at pitches.” Basically, Kitty doesn’t want to join the X Team because she disagrees with the whole mission statement, but she also doesn’t fuck with the Brotherhood either because she doesn’t like their agro nature. Then of course, the X Team keeps getting into trouble and Kitty helps them out in the end because like Rogue is her future wife, she has to help her out, but still doesn’t join and yeah! The whole thing is really fun, very like late 80’s episodic, villain of the week style and has a good sense of humor! Pat and I are dweebs so we literally have a goof 20 years of plot planned out, with the first biggest plot point being Apocalypse fucking shit up (Kitty has to work with the only other unaffected party, Mystique), then immediately having to run away from SHIELD starting up the Mutant Containment program, and so on and so forth. More or less, it’s just our like dream plot lines and characterizations existing in a world where characters are allowed to be goofy, and gay, and POC!! I won’t go into the whole thing unless ya’ll want it but this is already an essay length- but like trust us. We have waaaaay too much planned, and its a damn shame the public won’t ever get to see it.
fake photos from the 80′s au I wish i had the time to expand on
havent draw my 80s storyline kitty in a while
hi I love your art so much it always makes me happy on my dash!!! I was just wondering you've mentioned you have an 80's au a couple of times! What is that??
b o i you do not know the can of worms you just opened So basically for the last year and a half probably, me and my brother have had this (way too intricate) Kitty Pryde centered au idea set in the 1980’s that basically is like catered to fix things that have always bothered us.I will hide this under a read more later but I'm on mobile right now! It’s really really detailed and lengthy, and spans for about two decades but here’s the skinny:Basically, it’s 1986 and Anne Marie Adler (Rouge) runs away from her adoptive mother after her mutation manifests at her coming out ceremony (basically like a southern tradition where women are “introduced” to Society by male peers, it’s weird I think so too I’m from Jersey). She’s contacted by the Xavier institute and she runs to them, which is set up in a small town in Michigan called Mackinaw. Due to nuclear testing in the 1950’s, the town is an epicenter for mutant activity. There she moves into the mansion, which only has teenagers Kurt and Bobby, and adults Jean, Scott, Jubilee, Logan, Ororo, Hank, Charles, and Alex. At Public school she mets Kitty Pryde who is instantly smitten with Rouge and offers her a tour. Rouge later finds out she is Bobby’s best friend, and also a mutant, who Xavier has been trying to recruit for almost five years. Kitty refuses to join the X Men because she wants some semblance of normalcy. She still ends up helping out a lot but very reluctantly and refuses to wear the dumb ass outfit.Basically, it’s just tons of kooky high school adventures and sass fights between Charles and Kitty until Kitty’s senior year when Apocalypse rises from the dead, which after defeated, prompts a full sized SHEILD funded Mutant Containment program to be activated which is when shit hits the fan. Yeah like we have 900 plot lines and a short lived spin off series called “Kitty! In Space!” And it’s really just for fun but we’re really into it, but this post is already huge so I will stop typing haha sorry I love this so much.
