Snow Day - Hansol Vernon
Summary: You and Vernon have a snowball fight.
Words: 0.59K. short and sweet.
Pairing: Hansol Vernon x GF!Reader
Warnings: none. pure fluff. unedited.
-
"No. You. Didn't."
Your hand covered your mouth, trying to stifle the laugh that was trying to escape. Vernon turned to face you with a playful glare etched into his features.
"It was him!" You exclaimed, pointing over to your younger brother, who shook his head quickly to deny it.
"Liar! It was you!" Seungchan exclaimed back just as quickly. Vernon walked towards the two of you, with a snowball in his hands.
You didn't mean to hit him in the face. You really didn't. You were aiming for the back of his head, and he just so happened to turn around at the wrong moment.
His eyes met Seungchan's, and he grinned at the boy. You knew it was over for you. "Get her."
Your brother bent down to retrieve a snowball and in the blink of an eye you were being attacked with snowballs. The ice met your face, making you take in a deep breath as you tried to wipe the bits off your face.
"Oh, you're on." The three of you began to throw snowballs at one another, aiming for the right places to try and make the others give in. Seungchan was the first to give in when your mom called him inside to warm up before he got sick. That left you and Vernon.
You hid behind the biggest tree in your yard, trying to catch your breath before he found you again. Squealing as he wrapped his arms around your waist to swing you around before bringing you closer to him.
"Gotcha."
Even in the freezing cold, you could feel the heat radiating off of him. You didn't understand how he could be so warm all the time, but you didn't complain unless it was mid summer.
"You got me." You wrapped your arms around his neck, toying with the strands of hair on the back of his head. "Now what?"
He grabbed the end of your jacket, pulling you flush against him before he pressed his lips against yours softly. Your entire body instantly heated up at the contact. It always did when he kissed you.
Just as you were about to deepen the kiss you felt something hit the top of your heat. Your body chilled once more and your eyes shot open as you pulled away to gasp. Vernon snickered at the expression as he continued to sprinkle snow on top of your head. You were so caught up in him that you didn't even realize he moved his hands from around you.
He brushed a piece of snow of your face to kiss your nose. "I win."
AM • Yoon Keeho
Summary: After a party, you and your friends sit around the messy living room talking about your future.
Words: 1.2K
Genre: fluff, crack, college au
Pairing: Yoon Keeho x Girlfriend! Reader
Warning: some cursing is all
“All my favorite conversations always made in the AM.”
-
“Get home safe!” You waved at your friends as they left the your house. It was currently one am, and the party was officially dead. The only ones left was your boyfriend, his close friends, and your cousin and his best friend. You turned around to face the living area.
Taeyang and Jiung were spread out on the floor, staring up at the ceiling above them. They were the drunkest out of the four of you that were drinking. Intak and Jongseob were watching them from the loveseat with amused smiles on their lips. Shota, Jongseob’s best friend was passed out in front of the fire place.
You walked over to his sleeping frame, grabbing a throw blanket off the back of the couch. You placed the blanket over him before walking away.
Keeho patted the space next to him, offering you a beer bottle as you happily sat down. He wrapped his free around around your shoulder once you did, pulling you closer to him. You rested your head on his shoulder.
“Dude, your fan goes hella fast.” Jiung stated. He pointed up at the moving ceiling fan. His eyes never moved away from the circling blade. “It’s like it could fly off at any moment. Scary.”
“Dude.” Taeyang was right beside him, watching the fan as well. “It would kill us all.”
“You two are wasted.” Keeho mused. He watched his friends with an amused smile, and you couldn’t help but laugh at their antics.
“Doesn’t change the fact that Y/n’s fan is moving at a deadly speed.” Jiung argued.
“You know what’s scarier than the fan falling and killing us?” Taeyang questioned. He turned his eyes over to his friend with a serious look. “The future. i’m failing all of my classes. I’m going to have to drop out and live on the side of the road.”
“You’re not going to drop out.” You told him before taking a sip from your drink. “You just have to study more.”
“But it’s so harrrd.” He whined, wiggling around on the floor. “Why do I have to go through the hardships of life because my parents weren’t practicing safe sex?”
“Valid question.” Intak snapped his finger, pointing it over at Taeyang. “We didn’t ask to be here.”
“No, but you just have to make the most of the situation.” Keeho told them. “Instead of whining about how hard life is, do something to better it. Get your grades up, get a job. Do something to make yourself happier. Do something to shape your future and make you happy.”
“You know what would make me happy right now?” Jongseob spoke up, sitting up straighter in his spot on the loveseat. “Food. I’m hungry.”
“We should get pizza.” Jiung clapped excitedly, finally sitting up off the ground. “There’s a pizza place just around the corner.”
Before anyone could say anything, Jiung and Taeyang were heading out the door. Intak sighed before standing up. “Guess I should go with them to make sure they don’t get hit by a bus or something. Come on Jongseob.”
“What? Why me?”
“Food was your idea. Let’s go.”
The younger boy whined before standing up and following after the older boy. You laughed as your cousins walked by you. “Don’t let them die.”
“I’ll do the best I can.”
There was no stopping Jiung and Taeyang when they got started. The only thing anyone could do was follow them and make sure they don’t get hit by a car on the way to their destination.
The room fell quiet as the four of them exited the room, the only thing audible being Shota’s soft snores from across the room. You snuggled into Keehos side more, turning to face him.
“Speaking of future, what do you picture ours to be?”
He pursed his lips, thinking the question over. You watched him anxiously, wondering what he was going to say.
“We’ll, right now we’re still young, so we’ll live our lives as best as we can. We’ll go see so many different things while we can, and when we finally decide to settle down we’ll get a nice house in the city.”
“Where would we travel to?” You asked. You wanted to hear more of the future he had planned for the two of you. He had the right ideas anyways.
“Anywhere we want, but I want to take you to Toronto at some point. I want to show you around my hometown.” He smiled at the thought of being back in his hometown with you by his side. “But we’d have to go when Doja Cat’s having a concert then. Two birds, one stone.”
“Of course.” You agreed quickly. “Seeing Toronto and Doja in the same week? Wouldn’t have it any other way”
“And when we finally settle down we’ll get a two bedroom apartment, a two bedroom because we might decide to start a family at some point, but that’s so far from now.” He waved the topic off. He pulled you closer, turning his eyes towards you. “We can’t have a good time now if we’re so worried about the future.”
“You already promised to take me to Toronto to see Doja though.” You pouted. It was only a joke, because you agreed with him. If the two of you were so worried about the far away future, there’s not way you’d be able to have a good time with each other now.
“Oh that’s definitely happening.”
You laughed at him, but deep down you couldn't wait for what the future had in store for the two of you. It was exciting, but at times it was nerve wracking.
"I can't wait." You snuggled closer to him, closing your eyes.
"For the Doja concert?"
"Yes, but I meant for our future together." You opened your eyes once more, this time turning to face the man you loved. He smiled at you before reaching over to give you a sweet kiss on the forehead, making your smile widen.
"We're back!" Intak's voice flowed through the building. Shota moved around at the loud noise. He sat up for glare over at the loud man. "Sorry, but we brought pizza."
Shota's face instantly calmed at the mention of food. He stood up and made his way towards the kitchen, where Jongseob placed the three pizza boxes down on the table.
Keeho stood up, making you whine about the lack of body heat keeping you warm. He reached his hand out to help you stand up before the two of you made your way to the kitchen to eat with your friends.
You were excited for your future, but you would rather live in the moment than thinking about it. You were having fun, and regardless of what your future held, with your friends it would definitely be never boring.

As winter closed in, the residents found themselves huddling together in the same room to sleep. There was no room with any kind of heat whatsoever, so all of them were forced to huddle together to keep warm at night. There were complaints at first, but once they realized it was either that or freeze, they were quick to agree.
You walked through the halls, carrying more blankets you had found on a run through the first floor of the complex. Luckily for you, you didn't have a run in with any monsters, and you managed to find five thin blankets, and well as three thicker ones.
Hwanwoong had went with you, and thanks to him you had extra hands to help bring the blankets to the main floor. Once there he left to go back to the others to help them board up windows.
"Beomgyu, I'm telling you. They're going to turn on you sooner or later."
You stopped in your tracks, keeping behind the corner. You listened as Dulsik talked. Was eavesdropping a little weird? Probably, but he was talking about the people of the complex. That gave you a pass.
"They wouldn't." Beomgyu's voice filled your ears, and you almost smiled at his trust in all of you. He really was a sweet kid.
"They're humans!" Dulsik reminded him quickly. "You're a monster. They're going to lose their faith in you, and when they do you'll end up just like every other monster they've encountered."
"Those monsters attacked first. They can't help it if they get scared and want to live."
"And when they get scared of you? Then what?" Beomgyu went quiet, and you didn't like it. If he went silent then that meant he was thinking Dulsik's words over. The last thing any of you needed was Beomgyu turning against you. "It's better to kill them out before they kill us."
Your eyes widened, and you quickly turned in the other direction to find another way to the main room. Dulsik had to of known you were there, and he wouldn't of minded making you an example of his statement, especially since you were listening into their conversation.
You had to tell the others- no you couldn't. If you did then they would surely want to take Dulsik out. Then Beomgyu would see that he was right, but then again your actions would've been justified. He wanted to kill all of you, so how could he be against you if you wanted him gone first.
You were conflicted. They deserved to know. What should you do? If Dulsik finds out that they knew he'd go ahead and end them all. Why was everything so-
"Y/N?" Jieun placed a hand on your shoulder, bringing you back to reality. "Are you alright?"
You blinked. "Yeah. Why?"
"You were standing here for a couple of minutes, staring down the hall. Did something happen?" Her voice held concern. How she could be so sweet in a world like this, you didn't know.
You shook your head. "I'm fine. I was just deep in thought."
Jieun eyed you as if she didn’t believe you. “If you say so.”
You tried to give her a reassuring smile, but you weren’t sure how well it worked. You walked around her and towards the cabinet you kept the blankets in.
Your mind was clouded by the scenarios that could happen if you let what you knew out. Closing the cabinet, you walked out of the room and towards the security room. Wonwoo was already there, writing down everything they had.
“Found five more blankets.” You told him. He nodded, continuing to write down whatever he felt necessary.
You sat down on the bed the two of you shared, picking up one of the books on the small nightstand. You opened it, but found it hard to concentrate.
“Something on your mind?” Wonwoo asked. He turned the chair around so he was facing you.
You let out a sigh. “What do you think of Dulsik?”
He quirked an eyebrow. “Why?”
“Just asking.” You shrugged as if it were no big deal. “So?”
“Don’t really like him.” Wonwoo eyed you, trying to figure out what the meaning behind the question was. He came up with nothing. "Y/n, what do you know?"
You had been caught. Now you had to tell him. "I heard Dulsik talking to Beomgyu earlier. He's trying to make him think we're going to double cross him. He wants us dead."
"For what?"
"He said we'd turn on Gyu and try to kill him."
"Do you think Beomgyu believes him?"
You sighed, falling back onto the bed. "I hope not. How are we supposed to go about this? There's no way we can take on two special grade monsters."
Wonwoo leaned forward, resting his elbows on his legs. His hair fell around his eyes. "We can't just leave. Maybe we ask them to leave. They're part monster after all. They'd survive."
"But then we'd be proving him right. By asking them to leave we'd be going against Beomgyu." It was all frustrating. You didn't know what to do. "But we can't just stay here and wait for him to attack us."
Wonwoo nodded. "We'll tell the others. Ask what they think."
-
"Are you serious?"
“Are we going to die?”
“What are we supposed to do?”
They weren't taking the news well. After explaining it to them, they began to freak out. It was expected, but you still had no idea how to handle the situation.
“It’s alright.” Wonwoo tried to reassure them, but it would work.
Eunwoo scoffed. “The hell it is. The asshole wants to kill us.”
“What else did you guys expect from one of them?” Kevin asked.
The door to the right opened, revealing Dulsik and Beomgyu. “And what exactly am I?”
Kevin didn’t hesitate in answering. “A monster.”
Dulsik turned to Beomgyu with a satisfied look. “I told you. It was only a matter of time.”
Beomgyu turned to you, the hurt in his eyes clear. “What’s this about?”
“It’s not about you.” You told him before turning your eyes over to Dulsik. “It’s about him.”
“She heard what he said.” Wonwoo continued for her. “That he wants to kill us.”
“I do.” Dulsik had no shame in saying it. That was the scary part. He didn’t care if any of them knew. “It’s better than you killing me.”
“If you’re so worried why don’t you leave?” Hwanwoong asked. He stood by you, shuffling awkwardly. “You’d survive out there.”
“Hmm, no.” Dulsik waltzed around the lot of you, giving each of you a taunting smile. “I quite like it here.”
He placed a hand on Yoohyeon’s shoulder, and she began to breathe harder than normal. She fished her inhaler out of her pocket. She brought it up to her lips, but nothing came out.
“Shit.” She shook the medicine before trying once more. “I’m out.”
“Just calm down.” Jieun said, rubbing soothing circles on her back.
Wonwoo shook his head quickly. “An asthma attack isn’t the same as a panic attack. She needs medicine.”
Yoohyeon continued to breathe harder and harder. She pulled at her shirt as sweat began to make its way down her face. “Can’t… breathe-“
She fell to her knees, clawing at her throat that was failing to pump air from and too her lungs. Panic soon struck once more and everyone tried to find any way to help the panicking woman.
"I can get her an inhaler." You spoke up.
Hwanwoong was quick to shut your idea down. "She'd die before you got back."
"I can take her with me?"
"Take my car!" Jieun spoke up, tossing you a set of keys. "It's the blue kia in the front."
Taeyong stood up, and in one swift motion he picked Yoohyeon up in his arms. She clung to him, unable to fight back in this moment. You followed them to the door, motioning for Hwanwoong to open the gate. He nodded and sped off.
"What are you doing?" Wonwoo asked, following after them. "You'll die out there."
"It's better to take the chance than just let her die." He argued. The gate lifted, and Taeyong didn't hesitate to step out into open territory. You handed him the keys, and he took them gratefully.
Just as he was about to open the door, two shots rang out from inside the building. Time seemed to slow down as both Taeyong and Yoohyeon fell to the ground in a pool of their blood.
You were shoved behind Wonwoo as the gate lifted back down. You peeked around to see Dulsik holding a pistol in their direction. He lowered it as the gate snapped closed. He turned to all of you with a small smirk on his lips.
"What the fuck are you doing?" Wonwoo snapped, his arm gripping your wrist tightly in fear of you slipping away.
Dulsik turned to Beomgyu, the smirk long gone. "I told you. They were going to try and get rid of us."
"Y/n.." Beomgyu whispered, disbelief in his tone.
You shook your head quickly. "It's not that. Yoohyeon was having an asthma attack and Taeyong was taking her to get an inhaler."
Dulsik continued his twisted mind games. "It's not true. They were going to tell the armed forces about you and me."
"Then why the fuck was he carrying her?!" You stepped from around Wonwoo, who wasn't too thrilled about your decision. "If she was fine and we were sending them off to find help she wouldn't have been fighting to breath!"
You turned to Beomgyu, your pleading eyes baring into his confused ones. "Beomgyu, you have to believe me. I told you I wasn't going to give you in, and I meant it. Dulsik's just trying to get into your head so you turn on us. I heard what he said earlier."
"Oh yeah, I know all about your snooping." Dulsik stepped closer to you. He reached over to toy with a piece of your hair.
Wonwoo moved to reach out for you, but Dulsik held the pistol in his face, daring him to come any closer. "Woo, please don't."
"They're using you, Beomgyu. They lock you in a room and let you out only when they need you." Dulsik continued to try and manipulate the boy. "And when you're of no use to them anymore they'll dispose of you. That's the way it works."
"No it's not." You denied. "Yes, I admit locking you up was a bad choice and I fought against it, but the others wanted to be sure you wouldn't turn like the others one we saw."
Beomgyu's eyes never left yours as you and Dulsik each tried to lure him in the opposite direction. Soon enough, he walked over to you, reaching out to pull you from Dulsik's grasp.
"Don't touch her."
Dulsik's eyes darkened. "Oh, so that's how it is?"
In a split second, his demeanor changed. His eyes were now solid black and he lunged forward to grab you, but Beomgyu was quicker. He shoved you into Wonwoo before punching the boy.
Wonwoo wrapped his arms around you and pulled you closer to the wall and away from the two fighting demons. Beomgyu's bones began to crack, and his arms transformed into sharp wings.
You all stopped to stare at him in horror. The other demon transformed as well, a new set of limbs sprouting from underneath his arms. You hadn't seen anything like it, and you were living in an apocalyptic world.
Dulsik attacked first, grabbing Beomgyu by the head and shoving him backwards harshly. Beomgyu jumped back up and swung his winged arm at the boy, slicing into his face. He was quick to recover.
It went on like this for a bit. Once of them would strike, but the other would immediately recover and serve their own blow to their opponent. As they fought, they destroyed whatever was in their path.
The sun began to set around the building, and the light was lighting up the small room. You stood up straighter. "Gyu, the sunset!"
He caught on to what you meant and he quickly shoved his sharp winged hand in the stomach of Dulsik. He sputtered, trying to speak but the blood made his choke. He fell to the ground with a thud, but Beomgyu wasn't done.
He swung with arm around, catching Jaesuk by the face. The old man fell to the ground, blood pooling around him. Screams echoed through the building, but Beomgyu wouldn't let up.
"Beomgyu!" You tried to call out. "Beomgyu stop! It's okay you won!"
He swung around once more, slicing into Eunwoo's legs. He screamed as he fell to the ground, holding onto his continuously bleeding legs.
"Beomgyu please!"
Beomgyu slowed his movements at the sound of your voice. You stood up and walked in front of the little girl he was eyeing. You'd sacrifice yourself before you let him hold the burden of killing a kid.
"Gyu." You said, more sternly this time. "Stop this."
His eyes flashed back to his normal ones, but they were instantly back to black. He stepped back, holding his head. It was almost as if he was fighting the urges to kill.
Finally, his wings disappeared and he fell to the ground. You stepped forward, grabbing him by the arm and pulling his head into your lap. "Beomgyu?"
He stirred around, making you sigh in relief. The others crowded around you, eyeing the boy with different looks on their faces. "He didn't mean to."
"Why do you care so much about him in the first place?" Yeojin asked.
You glanced down at the boy, rubbing his head softly. "Because I knew what it was like to be alone before the world ended. I had no one for a long time, and I thought I wouldn't make it, but my brother forced me to move in with him so he could keep an eye on me."
Those days were some of your darkest. After your parents death when you were in high school, you felt as if you had no one. Your brother was off in college, and you were about to graduate, so you were on your own. It was horrible, and you didn't want Beomgyu to go through that. Not after what happened on the roof.
"He's just a kid." You spoke softly. Wonwoo sat down beside you, wrapping an arm around your shoulders as you held the young boy. He clung to you as if his life depended on it.
The others sat around the room, trying to comprehend what just happened. Eunwoo and Jaesuk's bodies were on one side of the room, and everyone else was on the other side. They were all too scared to move. Jieun held the two crying kids.
"Is it over?" The small girl asked.
Sunmi gave her a sad smile. "I fear it's far from over. As long as where here we'll be in constant danger."
"Why would you tell her that?!" Kevin exclaimed, his eyes wide.
Sunmi paid him no mind. "It's the truth. She may be a child, but she deserves to know just how bad our situation is."
"So what do we do?" Hwanwoong asked. He crossed his arms over his chest. "Do we just leave?"
"And risk being out in the open?" Wonwoo retorted. He motioned over to a lifeless Dulsik. "We don't know just how many more of him are out there."
"What about the military? Aren't they rescuing people?" Jieun questioned. Somun was in her arms, clinging to her for dear life.
You shook your head softly. "Only if we give up Beomgyu, which isn't an option."
A loud screeching echoed through the building, forcing you to cover your ears. Beomgyu stirred slightly, his eyes opening at the noise. Shots rang outside, and all of you stood up to move away from the windows.
"This is Lieutenant Oh of the South Korean Military, turn over the special grade and we'll bring you in to our safety camp."
How did they find him? Your eyes widened as you reached for the button Sunmi gave you. It was supposed to be in your pocket, but it wasn't there. You looked across the room, trying to find it.
"No." It was clutched between Eunwoo's fingers. He must of pressed it when he was stabbed.
"They want me in exchange for your safety." Beomgyu muttered, more to himself than anything. "It's a fair exchange."
"No." You shook your head quickly. "Shut up, you're not going out there."
"If I don't go out there they'll come in here." He told you. "I'll be fine."
Beomgyu reached forward, wrapping his arms around your shoulders. His head was buried in the crook of your neck, and you could feel the tears fall onto your shirt. "Thank you. Y/n."
You could feel your eyes water up as you hugged him back tightly. "You don't have to do this."
"Too many people have gotten hurt because of me." He released you, stepping back. "It's time I save the rest of you."
The building shook, and you grabbed onto Wonwoo to keep your footing. Before any of you could make a move, the front part of the building fell down, making you jump back.
"What the fuck?!" Kevin screamed. "Was that a fucking explosion?"
"Are we trapped?" Hwanwoong asked, looking around in every direction.
Wonwoo pulled you closer to him. "Unless you can find a way to start digging faster than it's collapsing."
"Wait!" Jieun spoke up. "The tunnel."
You glanced back at her. "What tunnel?"
"The tunnel Jaesuk found." Kevin elaborated. "When he was digging the holes he came across an entrance to an underground tunnel that leads outside."
"You found an underground tunnel and you didn't think to mention it?" Wonwoo snapped.
You pulled on his arm. "We can argue about this after we avoid being crushed by the building. Let's go!"
Kevin took the lead. He carried Somun as he ran towards the makeshift graveyard for the resident that had perished. Wonwoo kept a tight grip on your hand as he followed after the others. You glanced back at Beomgyu, who watched all of you run away. You knew he wouldn't get hurt by the fall of the building, but you still worried about him for what was to come.
"This way!" Wonwoo pulled you around the corner, breaking your stare on Beomgyu. You turned your attention back to in front off you, following the others towards the tunnel that would lead you to your escape.
Kevin opened the hatch, and he ushered the little boy down the ladder. The others quickly followed after him. Once he made sure everyone was down, Kevin climbed down himself.
Kevin stepped to the front of the line, pulling a lighter out of his pocket. "Stay close. It get's kinda tight."
He took the lead once more, leading all of you through the tunnel. You could feel the dust entering your lungs, making you cough. Wonwoo pulled you along once more, not letting you slow down in the slightest.
"Almost there!" Kevin urged, never slowing down from his run. You weren't sure what the lot of you were going to do once you got out, but you knew you couldn't stay in the tunnel. You had to get out of there and fast.
He reached the end. He climbed the ladder and pushed the hatch open before he climbed out. He helped you out, one by one before standing up and looking around with you. It had been months since you had been outside, and after seeing the damage to everything, you couldn't help but wonder if things would ever go back to normal.
"Over here!" Someone shouted. You looked up, watching as a soldier pulled the little ones over first before ushering the rest of you towards the truck. Wonwoo lifted you on the truck before climbing onto the truck himself. You wrapped his arm around you, pulling you closer to him.
"Are all of you okay?" The soldier asks. You ignored him, looking straight ahead as the truck took off to hopefully a safe place where all of you would go.
"It's alright." Wonwoo whispered, placing a soft kiss to your temple. "We're gonna be okay."
Even though you didn't fully believe him, you never fussed. But how safe could you be in a world like this?

this is loosely based off the kdrama sweet home. i took note of how lee eun-hyuk looked like wonwoo to me in several scenes and inspiration struck. i’m trying not to copy the show 100%, so some things are my own plot, but other parts of the story are straight from the show.
i do not own the show, or the webtoon Sweet Home. Those credits go to the illustrator Hwang Young-Chan and the writer Kim Carnby, as well as Netflix.
That’s all. I hope you enjoy! :)

“Point of no returning, now it's just too late to turn around”
-
You weren’t sure where is all went wrong. A loving embrace turned into never holding each other. Sweet words turned into yelling. The two of you worked well together, and then you didn’t.
You started arguing over the smallest of things. You always made up hours later when one of you decided it was enough, but it was never enough. Another argument would soon ensure, and the cycle started once more.
Just like now. The two of you stood in your apartment, arguing over something you couldn’t even remember. It was tiring.
Your stern tones blended together as the two of you tried to over talk one another. You let out a frustrated sigh and ran your fingers through your hair.
“Why are we doing this?”
He stopped talking. “Because you-“
“No, I meant this.” You motioned to him, and then to yourself. “All we do is argue anymore Woosung.”
“Couples have arguments.“ He said softly.
You shook your head. “Not every day. Not like this. What happened to us?”
He eyed you, crossing his arms over his chest. “I guess we just… drifted apart.”
That was an understatement. It was if you were two strangers.
“So why are we still acting like everything’s okay?”
He wasn’t sure what to say to that, and honestly neither were you. You wanted it to work, but there wasn’t any hope anymore. You sat on the couch, placing your head in your hands.
“Are you saying we should break up?” His voice was hoarse, and his eyes were trained on you, waiting for an answer.
“Shouldn’t we?” Your eyes met his, and you had wished this wasn’t happening. “All we do is argue anymore. We can’t be happy together and do this everyday.”
He turned away from you, his eyes moving to the floor instead. He knew you were right, but damnit he didn’t want to admit it.
He stepped closer to you, sitting down beside you. “Maybe you’re right.”
You wanted him to fight against it, to promise you that it would work. You wanted him to hold you and tell you he wasn’t going anywhere.
But even he knew this was hopeless.
His hands found their way to your cheeks. “Y/n, is that really what you want? To end this?”
No.
You weren’t sure you could tell him that. You loved him. You really did. But your personalities crashed. Both of you were too stubborn to listen to the other, and neither of you were willing to lose an argument. It would never work like this.
“I think it’s for the best.” You muttered quietly.
Woosung nodded, but you didn’t miss the way his eyes started watering. He leaned forward to press a soft kiss to your forehead. It left you breathless, and wanting more, but that couldn’t happen.
He stood up and wiped his pants off before he stepped over to the door. “At least we can’t say we didn’t try. Maybe I’ll see you around.”
He hesitated when leaving the apartment, but when the door shut you broke down. The tears fell freely down your cheeks as you leaned over the side of the couch.
It hit you like a truck. Your small apartment seemed to be so much larger now that it was just you inside. The only thing you could hear was your soft cries as the night pushed on.
-
A week after the breakup, and you weren’t doing too well. It was a mutual break up, but that didn’t mean it didn’t hurt.
Was it a mistake? Should you have tried once more?
No. The endless arguing had to come to an end. But you’d miss the nights you held one another while watching movies. The nights you found yourself kissing his neck while he played the guitar. His soft voice echoing through the apartment as he sang to you while the two of you danced in the middle of the night. It would all be missed.
You had seen him a couple of times, and it didn’t make it easier. Of course it was bound to happen. You didn’t live that far from him after all.
It didn’t look like the break up affected him that badly, and that made it worse. You wanted him to feel like you did. To hurt, and to miss all that the two of you had. But even you knew you couldn’t control how he felt. You just had to move on.
You cuddled into your blanket, pressing the ignore button on your phone. Your friend had been calling you all day, begging you to get out of the house. You didn’t feel like it right now. Maybe tomorrow.
Catching sight of the picture of you and Woosung on your wall, you let out a huff and fell back onto the couch. You didn’t want to look at it now. You’d have to remind yourself to take it down later.
Some people just weren’t meant to be together. And unfortunately for you, you found that out a little to late. You wanted to curse the world for letting you fall for him before showing you it would never work.
You wanted it to work. You really did. But deep down you knew it never could. The two of you were never meant to last. You loved Woosung, and you were pretty sure you always will.
It was hard to love someone that you knew you couldn’t be with. But like he said; at least you tried. You tried to make it work, but it wasn’t meant to be.
You and Woosung had built it up so high. You were on top of it all, and then a storm came and you were falling. The wind whipping at your face stung, but you had no choice but to embrace it as you got closer to the ground.
It’s a long way down.

You were having trouble paying attention to your friend. It was normal for you to zone out every now and then, but you never blanked out everything. You were usually able to listen to what Riley was saying and wonder off in your own mind, but not this time.
You couldn't keep your eyes off the mark on your wrist. It was somewhat simple, but unique in it's own way. It was nothing more than a blob on your wrist, but what really stuck out was the lines coming from each side. A lot of people you met were lucky with their marks. Some had flower shapes, and others had animals, but you were stuck with a blob and two sticks.
You weren't going to complain. Having a mark as boring as yours would make it easier for you to find them; your soulmate. You had no idea who they were, but you knew you'd come across them one day. It was destiny.
Of course you were sad you hadn't met them yet. You were twenty years old and one of the only ones on campus that hadn't met their soulmate yet. It bothered you to no end, but you were just glad you weren't born without one. Then again, you'vw had it for twenty years and hasn't met them yet.
Maybe whoever give the marks out made a mistake.
Maybe you were supposed to be born without one, and you were doomed to spend the rest of your life alone. Sure, there were others out there that were markless, but most of them just wanted to have fun and hook up with others without being tied down. You couldn't understand how they could live without worry. Of course you knew a relationship wasn't the priority of everyone, especially those without a mark, but you wouldn't be able to do it. You would just sit around and wonder why you weren't given one.
"Y/n, are you even listening?" Riley snapped her finger in front of your eyes, bringing you back into the conversation. Shaking your head, you turned to look back at her. "Are you good?"
"Yeah, I just got lost in thought, what were you saying?"
Riley took it as the confirmation she needed to keep on ranting. "It makes no sense!"
You then remembered the topic of the conversation, and you couldn't help but roll you eyes at your friend and her dramatic ways. "Riley, you knew he wasn't your soulmate. You knew this was going to happen."
"Yeah, but I didnt' expect the bastard to cheat on me!"
You glanced around the room with pursed lips. Your roommate and best friend was pacing the room in front of you, fuming at what she had just found out. "Is it actually cheating if he did it with his soulmate? I mean they were meant to be together."
"Of course it's cheating!" You flinched as her voice raised, making you wish you had never asked the question in the first place. "The asshole should've never asked me out if he was worried about his soulmate."
"You know how most people are about their marks." You reminded your friend with an eye roll. "They just want to have fun until they meet their special someone. You're one of them!"
"I know." Her voice was back to normal, but her expressions showed that she was still on edge about the whole thing. "I know that. Of course I know that. I just really started to like this guy since I haven't met my soulmate yet and I thought he did too."
"I know."
"No you don't." Riley retorted, sitting beside you on her twin sized bed. "You've never dated anyone! You walk around campus ignoring the looks guys give you in case you actually meet your soulmate. You waste your life away with books and homework."
It was true. You had never had a boyfriend. You had turned down multiple boys growing up, but you never felt bad. You didn't see the need in wasting your time on dates with boys who weren't your soulmate when you could be doing something with your life. You were meant to meet your soulmate at the right time.
Regardless, her comment still hurt.
Riley's anger soothed when she saw your expression. "Y/n, I'm sorry. I didn't meant it."
"No, I know-"
"No you don't." She cut you off once more. She reached forward to cup your head in her hands, forcing you to look at her. "I'm really sorry, okay? I know you're waiting to meet your soulmate and I know you'll probably meet yours before I meet mine."
"I highly doubt it." Riley rolled her eyes before falling back on the bed. She absolutely hated the fact that you had practically given up. You were the most driven person she had ever met, and she adored the determination you held within,
Whatever you wanted to do, you did it. Whether it would take days, or weeks, or even months you would see it through. She realized you were so determined in their first year of college. The two of you had just met and you swore to get not just a passing grade, but the highest out of the class. You studied day and night, and you actually did it. You shocked her professor, but you got the highest score of the class.
"You're more social than I am. Chances are you'll run into your soulmate in the mist of trying to find a hook up."

"Okay, so Pavlov is the one that worked with dogs."
"Yep." You nodded before taking a bite out of your sandwich. Your best friend since birth, Ashton, sat across from you with a plate of nachos in his hands. "You're not even a psychology major, why are you so interested?"
"Just trying to find something to talk about it all." He rolled his eyes playfully at you. "Excuse me that I'm not a genius that wants to be a doctor."
"You and I both know that I'm in no way a genius." You snickered, mentioning the time you failed a couple of your classes.
He shook his head before retaliating. "You were going through it at the time, but you still bounced back within a week, that's genius behavior to me."
Ashton was tall, and his curly brown hair bounced every time he moved his head. His hazel eyes were piercing, and they brought out his tanned body in the perfect lighting. To put simply, he was gorgeous.
"Still waiting for your soulmate to show up?" He asked when he watched you glance down at your mark.
You pursed her lips before sighing. "I'm starting to doubt if they'll ever show up at this point."
"You don't have to wait forever." He reminded her. You smiled, knowing instantly what he was referring to. When you were in high school, the two of you made a pact that it either of them hadn't found you soulmate by thirty then you would marry each other.
You didn't like the idea at first. What if you ran into your soulmate a couple months or years after marrying him? Were you just supposed to forget about the person you were meant to spend your life with?
"But I know whoever it is, is looking for you."
"How could you possibly know that?" You asked with furrowed eyebrows. Ashton chuckled as he set his plate down.
"They'd be stupid not to look for someone so amazing." You felt your heart rate pick up slightly. He had always had this effect on you, and you almost hated it. He wasn't your soulmate, so you shouldn't be feeling these types of things.
A bag was set down in the chair beside you, breaking the staring contest you and Ashton were unintentionally having. You looked up to see Riley giving you a pointed stare.
"The sale starts in an hour!"
Your eyes widened as you remembered your promise to her a week ago. Her favorite store in Times Square was having a huge sale, and you swore that you would go so she wouldn't have to be alone in the mass of people that were sure to be there. Your lunch date with Ashton took up more time that you had expected.
"Jegil." You cursed before standing up and turning to the confused boy in front of you. "I'm sorry but I've gotta go. I'll text you later."
Before waiting for a reply, Riley dragged you along, obviously in a rush to get to the store before everyone else. You hoisted your bag higher on your shoulder as the two of you walked to the bus station.

It would be an understatement to say that the place was the busiest it's ever been. The two of you are usually here, so you knew the workers well and had an established friendship with them.
You tried your best to stay with Riley as the two of you searched through the once neatly placed clothing rack. "Honestly, I don't see why the two of you don't date already. You'd be a cute couple."
"You already know how I feel about it." You reminded her, grabbing a cute baby blue shirt with a graphic design on it. "Besides, we have the pact, remember?"
"That's like eight years away though." Riley groaned, continuing to flip through the clothes at lighting speed. If there was one thing she was good at it was spending money on fashionable clothes. "Look girl, that's your decision, but if I were you I wouldn't even hesitate to jump on him."
You rolled your eyes playfully at your friend. You were used to her dramatics, but lately they've been getting a little extra. You weren't going to complain though, dramatic Riley was fun to witness.
You stood to the side, slowly flipping through the clothes, using your time to actually look for something you'd like. A group of girls rushed passed the two of you, shoving one girl into you. You let out a small groan at the impact, and the girl instantly stood up, spitting out apologies as quick as she could.
"Don't worry about it." You told her with a sincere smile. "This place is pretty hectic."
"You're telling me. I hate working retail when there's a sale going on." It was only when she mentioned it did you notice the name tag on her shirt. Her name was Lily. You hadn't seen her here before, so maybe she was new.
"Are you ready to go?" Riley stepped beside you, but her eyes were on the girl in front of you. Lily crossed her arms over her chest and shifted her weight. Your eyes trailed down her exposed arm and to her right. Your eyes widened and you gasped when you spotted her mark.
"Holy shit." Without taking a second to ask, you reached forward to grab her hand, resulting in her letting out a small yelp. Riley opened her mouth to say something, but you quickly shushed her and reached over to grab her arm too, pushing her sleeve up to reveal the same mark on her own wrist.
The two girls gasped before turning to look at one another. You couldn't help but laugh at their shocked expressions, both of them trying to hide the blush on their cheeks. Snickering, you nudged Riley softly.
"Now we know why you always had shit times with guys."

"I can't believe you dragged me out last night so you could hang out with your girlfriend."
"I didn't want to be alone with her!" Riley exclaimed, following as you rushed through the subway station. She had dragged you out of your room last night to hand out with Lily. She was a nice girl, and you couldn't understand why Riley was freaking out like she was. "And she's not my girlfriend."
"She technically is isn't she? Since she's your soulmate and all that?" You countered, pushing your way passed the people on the train to claim a spot for you and your friend. "Besides, you've been alone with plenty of guys before. What makes her any different?"
"Guys, y/n, and most of them were just mindless hookups." Riley reminded you, sitting beside you with a huff. "Lily is my soulmate, so of course she's different, and I've never been with a girl before so I don't want to fuck everything up."
"You couldn't fuck it up even if you wanted to." Rolling your eyes, you pulled out your phone. Scrolling through social media, Twitter to be exact, you noticed a bunch of people that you followed were talking about a group that would be performing at the venue in your city. You overlooked it, seeing as you lived in New York there was someone different performing almost every night.
Riley huffed from beside you, and you cut your phone off, turning to look at her with a grin. "I told you that you'd find your soulmate before I would."
"Oh shut up, the only reason I found her is because of you." Riley shook her head, staring down at the ground. She had been in kind of a daze ever since meeting Lily, and you could tell she was really nervous about pursuing the relationship they still had to agree on.
"But you found her nonetheless." The train came to a stop, and you quickly got to your feet. You pushed through the large crowd of people, being as polite as you could when you tripped over someone's foot. You crashed into someone, but you quickly backed up to look at them with wide eyes.
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry!" You squeaked, glancing over the mans handsome face quickly. His blond hair cascaded down the side of his tanned face, stopping just below his eyebrow. Your eyes met and time around you seemed to slow down for a couple of seconds. For a single moment it was just the two of you.
"It's okay." He said, his foreign accent peaking through. You glanced down in embarrassment, hoping Riley would come to your aid, but your eyes caught sight of his wrist, where his mark was.
The man was quickly pulled away, making his arm move around, giving you a better angle of his mark.
It was the exact same as yours. This handsome stranger was your soulmate.
He glanced back at you, his eyes trailing down to the arm you were holding, your mark shining brightly. "Wait."
You had tried calling out, but the crowd kept pulling you further away from him. You could hear his faint voice on the other side of the ocean of people, but it was too late. You had lost him.
Defeated, you walked towards the exit of the subway station, where Riley was sitting. She hopped up at the sight of you. "Thank god! I was trying to call you!"
You hadn't even felt your phone vibrate. You were more worried about finding him again so you could finally meet your soulmate, but it didn't look like that would happen.
Riley saw your expression and cocked an eyebrow. "What happened?"
You ran a hand through your hair before grabbing her arm and pulling her along. "I met my soulmate."
Riley let out a loud gasp, making the people around you jump slightly. "You what?!"
Starting up the steps, You nodded in confirmation. "Well, I didn't actually meet him. I ran into him, saw his mark that was just like mine, and before I could say anything he was whisked away by his friends and we were pulled apart."
"That's poetic." Riley snickered.
"Aish!" You whined at her teasing. Riley laughed, tugging on your arm softly.
"I'm only kidding. Did you see his face?"
"He was handsome." You informed her. "He was korean like me, blond hair, dark brown eyes, and tanned skin. He was literally perfect. He spoke in english, but I don't think he was fluent."
"That means he was probably visiting." Riley stated the obvious. You nodded anyways, silently agreeing with her. "Don't worry about it Y/n, you'll find him again."
Sighing, you glanced back at the entrance of the station. "I'm not sure it's going to be that easy."

"What's going on?" Hongjoong asked as he and the others walked into the hotel room Yeosang shared with Wooyoung. Yeosang was pacing back and forth, and Wooyoung was watching him with an amused look on his face. "Is he okay?"
"Yeosang found his soulmate earlier today." Wooyoung explained simply. The others turned to look at the now still boy, their eyes wide and mouths agape.
Jongho was the first to recover from the shock. "Well who is it?"
"I don't know." Yeosang said quietly, but it was loud enough for them to hear. Mingi and Yunho sat on the empty bed, never looking away from the boy in front of them.
Seonghwa set a comforting hand on his friends shoulder. "What happened?"
"When we got separated at the subway station, I got crowded by a punch of people and she ran into me." Yeosang began to tell the story of how he saw you. "At first I thought she might have been a fan because she was shocked to see me, but then she looked at my mark."!
"You had your mark showing?" Hongjoong exclaimed, knowing the consequence if they had gotten caught with their marks out in the open.
"It had gotten hot so I had rolled my sleeves up a little bit!" Yeosang defended himself quickly. "She was the only one to pay me any attention so I thought it was fine, no one else saw it. I promise."
"Did you talk to her?" San asked, taking a seat in the desk chair on the other side of the room.
Yeosang shook his head. "Not really. I just apologized for bumping into her. Wooyoung pulled me away before I could say anything else."
All eyes turned to the culprit that kept Yeosang from talking to his soulmate. He threw his hands up in surrender. "I didn't know it was his soulmate! We even went back to look and we didn't find her anywhere."
"She has to be somewhere around here." Seonghwa huffed. "Maybe if we make a video asking for people to send it their marks we'd find her."
"Yeah, but what are the chances she's atiny?" Yunho countered the idea, pointing out the negative side of the idea. "We'd be going through hundreds of pictures without any promise it would be her."
"That would be worth it, wouldn't it?" Jongho took his hyungs side. "Chances are that the mention of an idol looking for their soulmate would be kind of big news. Word would get out to more people that just our atiny. She's bound to see it at one point. It's better than waiting around for him to run into her again."
"It could work." Yeosang agreed, desperate to find the girl he ran into. "I know what she looks like. It would be hard to forget such a beautiful face."
"Okay Romeo." Wooyoung stood up with an eye roll. "I'll set everything up. Figure out what you're going to say."

"Three hours later and over ten thousand profiles and none of them are your soulmate."
"This is going to take forever." You groaned, tossing your phone on your bed. It had been a whole day since running into him, and you and Riley had been looking through every social media app you could to try and find him. Nothing was working. "We're never going to find him."
Only a second later, Lily busted through the door with a wild look on her face. "I found him!"
Sitting up straighter in your seat, you shot the girl a confused look. How could she of found him? "You what?"
"I'm pretty sure I just found you soulmate." She elaborated as she took a seat on your couch. Riley was quick to sit beside her, her eyes glancing down at the laptop in her hand.
"How the hell?" Riley asked.
Lily gave a sheepish smile. "Okay, I know we haven't talked much, but before we get to serious about anything you should know that I like kpop."
"Like as in a crazy obsession or just casually listening?"
"Somewhere in the middle I guess. Like i'm not crazy obsessed with them but I have their posters on my walls and I collect their albums." Lily told her soulmate, biting her lip hesitantly. "That's kind of why I didn't want you to come over. I didn't want to freak you out."
"Why would you-"
"I love that you two are talking, but what does this have to do with finding my soulmate?"
"Oh!" Lily focused back on the reason she showed up so suddenly, opening the laptop quickly and pressing the chrome icon. The previous tab was still there, and you had never heard of it before, but you were putting blind faith in her.
"Okay this is called VLive, it's where idols come once in a while to talk with their fans. We can see them but they can't see us, and we talk with them through the chat in hopes that we'll be noticed." Lily rambled, and neither of you attempted to stop her. You figured she'd get there eventually. "About forty minutes ago this group I like called Ateez was live. It started off normal and everything, but then they got to talking about soulmates."
"Are you insisting that one of them is my soulmate?" You asked, the pieces forming together in your mind. " Lily that's crazy."
"Is it really?" She countered. "Just listen to what he says!"
She clicked play, and the eight boys on the screen began to move around. They seemed serious, and Lily shifted uncomfortably for some reason. Your eyes moved to the boys, scanning over each of them until they landed on the one that took your breath away. His blond hair and tanned skinned shined in the spotlight they were using, making him seem ethereal.
"Earlier this week, about two days ago in New York, I ran into my soulmate at the subway station. We were quickly pushed away, and I couldn't actually talk to her. I tried to look for her, but I found no trace of her afterwards. I know the chances of her watching this is slim, but if she is, please reach out to me. I'd really like to talk to you."
He spoke in Korean, but thankfully your mother taught you at an early age and you were able to understand it perfectly.
You reached over to press the space bar, pausing the video. Standing up, you began to pace the living room, murmuring to yourself.
"It's him isn't it?" Lily asked. You shot her a wide eyed look, making her smile widely. "It is him!"
"Who even is he?" Riley questioned.
"Kang Yeosang." Lily told the two of you, starting a new tab to type in the boys name. Several pictures came up, along with several article. "He's a dancer and a vocalist of the group. Kinda shy, but a huge dork."
You stared at the picture that showed up first. You could tell it was a recent one, because it looked just like him when you ran into him. You couldn't deny his beauty, and you were beyond nervous to know that not only was your soulmate talented, beautiful, and famous. You were just a college student, how were you supposed to compete with all that?
"How would we go about getting in touch with them?" Riley asked. You couldn't find it within you to speak, for your eyes were locked on his picture.
"They said later on in the live that their producers set up a special email so people could send in their marks."
You finally tore your eyes away from the picture to turn to your new friend. "How would that work? Hasn't several people seen their marks by now? Wouldn't someone just copy it?"
"Their management is strict when it comes to their mark." She explained. "They're supposed to have them covered up at all times, but I guess he forgot when he was rushing through the subway station."
"Y/n, this is it. This is what you've been waiting for for years." Riley's grin widened as she turned to you. "We're gonna get you to meet your soulmate."
"What am I supposed to do? Email these people and say i'm this guys soulmate?"
"Yes." Riley stood up, grabbing your phone off the table and stepping close to you. She slid her thumb to the left, opening the camera app. Pulling your arm out, she aimed the camera so it would get your mark, as well as your face. "He has to remember your face, so we'll make sure that your mark and face is visible in the picture."
Riley held the phone out to you so you could unlock it. Of course she knew your passcode, but she would do something like this without your permission. Letting you unlock your phone was her way of asking. You let out a huff before typing the code in quickly and tossing the phone over to Lily, who caught it with ease. She quickly typed in the email, attached the photo and put your name in the description before sending it.
"Now we wait." Lily let out a small breath, a smile etched onto her lips. She handed you your phone back and stood up.
"I think I'm going to go to sleep." You told the two of them, running a hand through your hair. "It's been a long day."
"But-"
"I'm pretty sure they have hundreds of emails to go through right? They're pretty famous, so I'm sure it'll take a while."
"She's right." Lily nodded in agreement. "A lot of people would kill to be in Y/n's position, so they're probably sending in their own marks and hoping they're his soulmate. They'll probably contact her sometime tomorrow at the earliest."
The two girls told you goodnight, and left you to do your own thing. You walked into your shared bathroom, stripping yourself of your clothes and taking a shower.
The hot water hit your body, easing you of the stress that you've endured for the passed couple of days. Hopefully you wouldn't have to worry and they'd contact you quicker than you'd anticipated.

"Maybe we didn't think this through." Yunho groaned. The eight boys sat together on the couch, squished so each of them could look at the phone in Hongjoongs hand. They had been flipping through emails, going through thousands of them, but they came up empty handed.
"What if she hasn't even seen the video yet?" Jongho commented. "Maybe she won't see it for another couple of days."
Yeosang sighed, ready to accept the reality that it was going to be a lot harder to find you than he thought. "We've been at this for two days, and we have to get ready for our concert tonight."
Hongjoong ignored him and continued to flip through the emails and quickly glancing over the mark before deleting the ones that aren't the same as Yeosang's. He decided to flip through only one more, and boy was he glad he did. The same mark as Yeosang's was staring him in the eye, and he couldn't help but let out a small squeal.
"I found her!"
Yeosang's head popped up right away, and he leaned closer to make sure his blue haired friend was right. He felt his mouth drop open as he ignored the mark, staring at the face that had been etched into the back of his mind for the last couple of days.
"That's..." He stuttered, eyes never once moving away from the screen. "That's her!"
The others crowded around once more, trying to look at the picture of the girl their friends been talking about for days. You were exactly as he described, but his words didn't do any justice.
"We have to email her back!" Seonghwa exclaimed, grabbing the phone out of Hongjoong's hands.
San reached over to take it out of Seonghwa's hand. "Not you! You're terrible with words!"
"What makes you think you could do it?" Yunho asked, taking it from San's hand.
"If anyone needs to do it, it's me." Wooyoung stated, grabbing the phone for himself.
Mingi reached over Jongho to snatch it out of the dark haired boys hands. "No way!"
"Or!" Jongho exclaimed, snatching the phone and standing up. He held a finger out to stop his hyungs from continuing the argument. "Or, Yeosang does it. It's his soulmate, not ours."
Jongho stepped in front of the blond, handing him the phone finally. He watched as his friends walked out of the room reluctantly, Jongho making sure they were all out before giving Yeosang a smile and a thumbs up. Then he was gone too.
Yeosang was left with his thoughts, and your picture staring back at him. He felt his heart rate pick up as he got nervous. What was he supposed to say to you? He had to sculpt the introduction carefully, because this was one thing he didn't want to fuck up.
He let out a deep sight before he began to type.

The sound of your phone going off woke you up before your alarm did. You looked around in the dim light, searching for the device that had woken you up. You grabbed it off your nightstand, blinking your eyes to get used to the light.
You felt your heart stop as you looked at the notification. It was an email from him, your soulmate.
"Oh my god!" You squealed loudly. Throwing the sheets off your body, you jumped up to run out of your room. You ran through the living room and to the other side of your shared apartment. Without doubting your actions, you pushed Riley's door open and turned on her lights. "Riley!!"
You jumped on her bed, shaking her awake. She sat up, looking around wildly. "What the fuck? Are you dying?"
"As close as I can be to it right now!" You retaliated. "He messaged me back!"
That got her attention, and she was now wide awake, staring at you impatiently. "What did he say?"
"I don't know. I haven't opened it yet."
"Are you stupid? Open it!"
Without replying, you pressed the email with your shaking finger. Your eyes darted to the semi long message and you began to read it. Riley scoffed before smacking you on the arm. "Read it out loud y/n! I don't understand hangul yet!"
"oh right! My bad"
"Hello, my name is Kang Yeosang, and it appears that your my soulmate. I apologize for not stopping to talk to you that day in the subway station, but my friend dragged me away before I could tell him what was going on. It would be lovely if we could get together before our flight back to South Korea at 7:30 am. If not I understand, but please send me your number so we can talk more. It would be really nice to get to know you, soulmate."
A moment of silence washed over the two of you after you finished reading the message. You couldn't seem to process that you had actually found him, or did he find you? It didn't matter, you knew who he was and you could finally get to know him.
On the other hand, how would it work with you living in opposite sides of the world. Not only that, but he works around a strict schedule for his group.
"5:23" Riley stated the time, making you cock an eyebrow at her, confused at what she was hinting at. "That means we have two hours to get dressed and get there."
You didn't think twice before bolting over to her closet and throwing the door open. It didn't matter if you borrowed her clothes, most of the stuff in her closet was yours anyways. She stepped beside you, picking out what she was going to wear, which was a denim skirt and a floral shirt. You took a simpler route. You picked out a pair of skinny jeans and her Harry Styles Tour tee. It was simple, but cute.
Glancing at the clock after getting dressed, you sighed. The two of you would never get ready and get there on time. Riley noticed you defeat, and she grabbed her makeup bag before shoving you to the door.
"We can do our makeup in the car."
You didn't argue as you rushed to the front door, slipping on your converse and stepping outside. After you made sure the door was locked the two of you raced for the stairs, not caring about waiting for the elevator. It was a lot quicker that you had originally thought, and you were outside in no time, calling for a cab.
After a brutal ten minutes of trying to haul a cab down, you slipped in the back seat and told him your destination. Checking the time on his radio, you let out a sigh of relief.
6:22.
Thankfully you lived somewhat close to the airport, but the traffic was holding you up. Riley tried to keep you occupied by applying eyeshadow and mascara to your bare face, and you let her. You wore makeup, but not every day. However, you did not want to meet Yeosang looking like you had just woken up.
The drive was nerve wracking, and at one point you were convinced that getting out and running would be faster than you were currently moving, but you stopped yourself from actually doing so.
Arriving at 6:54, you left Riley to pay the driver. She insisted you go seeing as time was running out. You decided not to argue and rush into the airport, pushing your way through the crowd to get through security. After they checked you bag, which seemed to take forever, they let you go through.
7:10.
It wasn't until you were actually looking around did you realize you had no idea which gate you needed to be at. You asked the nearest worker, and they were kind enough to tell you which way you needed to go. You thanked them quickly before taking off in that direction. You were now only feet away from your soulmate as you neared the gate.
Your feet stopped in front of the gate, watching as people were boarding earlier than scheduled. You began to panic, knowing that you wouldn't be able to spend time with Yeosang after all.
A fluff of blond hair caught you eye, and without thinking you called out his name. "Yeosang!"
His head lifted up and his eyes moved around the place frantically, looking for the girl that had called out to him. His eyes met yours, but he could do nothing as he was ushered inside the gate. As it closed after him, you felt your body slump, giving up on ever actually meeting him. You stepped over to the large window panel, watching as the plane was loaded to prepare for take off.
You phone buzzed, and you quickly fished it out of your back pocket. It was another email from Yeosang.
They won't let me off the plane :(
You frowned before quickly sending back a message.
I'm sorry. If only I had gotten here sooner.

New York 2020, April 18th 9:49 pm
"I wish your exams would hurry up."
You laughed, writing down the information from the text book that you needed to study further. Glancing up, you caught Yeosang staring at you through the screen. You had to fight with yourself to look back down at your work, the urge of doing nothing but stare at him was strong and you had to force yourself to get back to work.
It had been two weeks since he left New York, and while the two of you never met in person you had face times any chance you had gotten. You got to know each other, and you were beyond thrilled to finally be talking to your soulmate.
His company was enjoyable. You never got tired of talking to him, even if you ended up running out of things to talk about. Even when a soft silence draped over you, it was never awkward or weird. It was always comfortable.
"Me too." You sighed, getting back to fully concentrating on your work. "Just another week and i'll be free."
It was excruciatingly painful having to wait a whole week before you were able to fly out and see him. He had brought up the idea of him flying out to you to save you money, but his label had quickly shut down the idea. He had promotions for their upcoming comeback to work on, and you had no problem flying out to South Korea over your break. You had always wanted to go their one day anyways.
"One more week, and we get to see each other in person." You couldn't help the smile that spread on your lips. You couldn't wait to be able to see Yeosang in person. To be able to actually touch him for the first time.
"Yeosang-ah!" A voice called out, interrupting the sweet silence that had enveloped you once more. The boy turned his head, looking over at Hongjoong, who gave you a sweet smile. "Hello y/n!"
"Hi!" You said somewhat awkwardly. You hadn't really had the chance to talk to his friends, but when you did you were definitely awkward. You hated that you couldn't be like Riley, who could make friends with anyone.
"Yeosang, we have to get ready to leave." Hongjoong glance back and forth between them, not wanting to be the one to force the call to end.
Yeosang sighed, running a hand through his hair and giving you a sad look. "I'm sorry-"
"Don't even worry about it." You told him, giving him a reassuring smile to ease his nerves. "I should be getting to sleep anyways."
His eyes widened, as if he finally realized the time difference the two of you were facing. "I've kept you up haven't I! What time is it there?"
"It's only 10pm, don't worry." You rolled your eyes playfully at him, laughing softly at his worry. He was the cutest. "But I should really get some sleep if I want to make it to class on time tomorrow."
"Get some rest so you can study hard an ace your exam." You gave him a thumbs up and a quick wave before the call was ended. Your smile instantly dropped, the empty feeling creeping back inside you. Your eyes moved over to your laptop, the assignments from your psychology class staring back at you.
You opened a new tab and typed in the website for the nearest airport. Skimming through their tickets, you determined if you should go ahead and buy them. They would probably be running out during the break time, when a lot of people decided to travel.
You decided it would be worth it anyways. After clicking on the one ticket that you wanted, you clicked the checkout option. As soon as you clicked it, the site crashed, and so did your mood.
It seemed like the world was making it impossible at this point.

John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York
2020, May 3rd
5:23 am
"I'm kind of nervous." You let out a small huff, turning to Riley. She had come with you to the airport to see you off. The closer you got to the ticket booth the more your nerves began to act up. You had never flown anywhere, and you were about to do it alone.
You were somewhat terrified.
"Don't even worry about it. You'll be fine." She tried to reassure you, fixing your hair by pushing the strands behind your ear. "You're going to meet your soulmate y/n, for real this time."
"I don't know if I can do this alone." You told her truthfully. You had avoided bringing up your feelings of being scared, but you could tell she easily noticed by the way you were moving around every second.
"Alone?" Riley repeated, a grin coming to her lips. "Who said anything about you going alone?"
Your eyebrows furrowed as you followed to where she was now pointing. Lily was walking towards the two of you, a large smile on her lips. As she waved, you noticed the three tickets in her hands.
"Its about time you got here!" Lily greeted you, the smile never leaving her lips. "I really hope you don't mind if I tag along."
You took the ticket she handed you, giving her a smile. "Of course not."
"I asked her to come along so I wouldn't be alone when you were spending time with Yeosang." Riley informed you, and you nodded in understanding, watching as Lily wheeled Riley her suitcase. "She offered to come ahead and get the tickets while I waited for you."
You felt your eyes begin to swell with tears. You loved your best friend a lot, and she never failed to amaze you.
Lily motioned for the two of you to look at the time. "I love this, I do, but our flight leaves in five minutes, so we should get a move on."
As the three of you neared the entrance to the plain, you could feel the nerves slowly leaving your body. Of course you were still beyond nervous to see Yeosang in person, but you would be able to do it with your friends by your side.
"Flight 281 to Seoul, South Korea is now boarding."
Lily was bouncing on the heels of her feet as you waited for the line to start moving. It was easy to tell that she was excited, and for obvious reasons. Not only was she going to travel, but she was going to meet her idols in the process. You had hoped it wouldn't be a big deal for you friends to tag along, and by chance that Lily didn't get to meet Ateez, you would see to it that she at least left South Korea with their autographs.
After finding your seats, which Lily made sure was right beside one another, you set your bags in their designated spots and took a seat. Riley helped you through the process of flying, since you had never done something like this.
"Have you told Yeosang you're on the way?" Lily asked. You shook your head no, realizing you hadn't. Quickly fishing out your phone from your bag, you found your messages and began to type.
I know it's sudden, but we're on the way! Our flight just took off. See you soon :)

Seoul, South Korea 2020, May 4th 6;45pm
Yeosang couldn't stop staring at the message. You were on the way? You'd be here in less than fifteen hours? How was he supposed to be ready by then?
"Oh god." Yeosang muttered, catching the attention of his friends. He had began to pace the room, only confusing them further.
Jongho quirked an eyebrow. "What is it?"
"y/n's on her way."
"Really?" Hongjoong asked, a smile coming to his lips. "That's great news, so why do you look like you're gonna puke?"
"It's so sudden!"
"Yeosang you've been waiting to meet her for months now." Seonghwa reminded the panicked boy, laying a hand on his shoulder. "You have nothing to worry about."
"I know, it's just-" He sighed, unable to find the right words to say. "We we're going to talk about a time for us to meet and she just gets up and boards a flight so suddenly. She'll be here in less than a day and I had so much planned, but she's coming when we have shoots and-"
"Hey, hey, hey." Yunho said quickly, stopping the boy from ranting any further. They were all thrilled for their friend, and they understood why he was freaking out like he way. They just had to be there for him the best they could. "You can still spend time with y/n. I'm sure they'll let you have a couple days off."
Yeosang nodded, agreeing that their manager might be okay with him spending time with his soulmate. His eyes widened once more as he looked around the dorm. "Wait she's coming here..."
"Oh god-" Wooyoung looked around at their dirty dorm eyes. "We better clean up the place."
The eight boys glanced at one another before jumping into action, cleaning the place as best as they could to make it perfect for when you got here. As they cleaned, they discussed the options Yeosang had to spend time with you. They gave him suggestions on what to do, and he was thankful for them. He honestly didn't know how he would've gotten through this without them.
-
"Why does the universe hate me." You mumbled as you followed Riley and Lily off the plane. After one of the passengers passed out due to a panic attack, they were forced to emergency land in Daegu. You had hoped the person was alright, but you felt as if everything was trying to keep you from getting to Yeosang.
"At least we made it to South Korea." Lily tried to be positive about the situation, and that was something you've grown to like about her. "We're only a couple hours away now."
"Might as well grab a train ticket." Riley suggested, waiting for you to move. You quickly realized that out of the three, you were the only one that knew Korean. They were completely lost as to what anything was saying.
"Come on." You ushered them along, leading them over to the ticket booth. After buying three train tickets to the closest place to Yeosang with the only won you had on you, the three of you headed towards the train.
"How are we supposed to come up with the money to get another train ticket to Seoul?" Riley asked. You could only sigh, knowing the process would take longer than you have originally hoped.
"When we get to Daejeon we'll find a place to stay for the night. Tomorrow i'll swap my currency over so we can actually get where we need to go. "
It was a shame you didn't have the time to actually plan everything out so it would have worked more in your favor. You loved your friends and you were glad they wanted you to meet your soulmate so badly, but this is why you always had to have things planned out ahead of time. If not things would never go right.
"It's only a day longer." Lily tried to comfort you, but you only gave her a sad smile. These 'one more day' s were starting to feel like weeks. You just wanted to see him already.
-
We could only get a train to Daejeon. i'm afraid we'll have to wait just a little longe to meet :(
Yunho was the first to notice the frown on Yeosang's face. He sat beside him on the couch inside their dressing room. They were preparing for the other half of their photo shoot for their comeback.
"Everything okay?"
"Y/n can't make it today." He sighed in defeat. He couldn't believe you were so close to him, yet so far away. "First her plane has to emergency land and now she could only get to Daejeon. I have to wait a whole day more."
If it were anyone else that was witnessing his episode, they would've for sure called him dramatic and that it was only a day more, but Yunho knew how important this was to him. He had been waiting for the moment he met his soulmate for three years, and after finding out who you were and talking to you without actually meeting you, he was beyond excited to finally see you in person. It seemed fate had a different opinion and preferred to keep you apart.
"Who says you have to wait?" Wooyoung said, waltzing over to his best friend with a grin on his face. He pulled the van keys from behind his back. "We can meet them there."
"You took the van keys?" Yunho asked in disbelief.
"Of course not!" Wooyoung denied, giving the older boy a playful smile. "I simply grabbed them off the table."
"So you took them.."
"Not the point!" He redirected the attention back to Yeosang, who had grown his head back against the couch. "Come on, we can meet them there and bring them back with us!"
"They'd never let us go." Yeosang told him. He gave him a grateful smile. He was glad to know he had friends willing to do anything for him, even if it meant getting in trouble.
Wooyoung smirked. "Who said they had to know?"
"Do you know how much trouble we'd get in?"
"It's only a photo shoot. They can reschedule."
"We'd never get passed joong."
"there's no harm in trying." Wooyoung urged. He wanted Yeosang to meet his soulmate more than anyone. They all desperately wanted to meet their own, but it was hard to do so while being an idol, so if Yeosang had the chance to meet his soulmate then he needed to do whatever it took to meet you right away. " Come on, don't you want to meet her?"
"More than anything."
Wooyoung held out his hand. "Then come on."
Yeosang smiled before taking his hand and letting him help him to his feet. Yunho followed them out of the room. "You guys are really going? What do I tell the others?"
"Yeah, what are you gonna tell us?" The three of you froze in place at the sound of Hongjoongs voice. Yeosang turned around and sighed, knowing they were caught.
"I was gonna take Yeosang to meet y/n in Daejeon." Wooyoung admitted sheepishly.
"Then let's go." Yeosang's eyes widened at Hongjoongs words. The older boy smiled, taking the keys from Wooyoung. "Let's go find her."
"What if they ask where you went?" Mingi asked, glancing between the three of them. The three of them couldn't just leave without an excuse.
"Tell them Wooyoung got sick and Yeosang and I took him home." The others nodded before quickly walking away from each other.
Hongjoong lead the two younger boys around the building, looking around corners to make sure no one was around to catch them in the act of sneaking away. Once they were outside, they ran to the van and got seated. Hongjoong was in the drivers seat with Yeosang in the passenger seat and Wooyoung in the middle of the back row.
In a couple of hours the two of you would be together.
-
"We're here."
You couldn't control your leg bouncing up and down as you waited impatiently for the doors to the train to open up. It had been a couple of hours since the three of you had hit the road, and you were so close to Yeosang. So close to seeing him in person.
"This is taking forever." You whined, leaning back in your seat more.
Lily gave you a glance. "Just a little longer."
The doors opened, and you were quick to your feet to run off the train. You didn't even glance back at your friends. You simply called out to them.
"Meet you at the gate!"
"But we have no idea-" Lily tried to stop your but by the time she had opened her mouth you had taken off. "where we're going."
You pushed past the people in your way, but not being too rude about. You made sure to be respectful, but still kind of pushy to get to the place you needed to be. It wasn't crazy busy, but busy enough to were you couldn't see down the walkway.
It felt like the crowd was doing nothing but pushing you back towards the train, but you didn't give up. Beginning to push through again, you looked around for the man you had been trying to meet for months now. You could feel your mark beginning to burn slightly, and that meant you were close.
You were shoved into someone's chest, and you were quick to back up to give them an apology. "I'm sorry!"
The person moved out of the way, and when they did you saw him. Yeosang was standing there, a couple of feet ahead of you. Your eyes connected, and the biggest smile broke out into your lips.
The two of you wasted no time in running towards each other, stopping only inches apart. Yeosang glanced over you, not believing you were actually there.
"Is it you?" He asked. His voice was barely above a whisper, but somehow you managed to hear it over the commotion around you. "Y/n?"
"I don't look that different on the phone do i?" You asked, pouting slightly at the idea that you looked worse in person. Yeosang was quick to shake his head.
"You're just as beautiful in person as you are on the phone."He said. You felt your cheeks growing red at the compliment and to hide it you wrapped your arms around his waist and buried your face in his chest. He was quick to wrap his long arms around your shoulders, resting his cheek on top of your head. "I can't believe you're here. "
"I found you." You said happily. After years of being alone, you had finally found your soulmate. After talking to him for months, you had begun to fall for him, and seeing him in person really helped you figure out your own feelings.
"Pretty sure i found you." He retaliated, chuckling slightly. You pulled back, but never once leaving his arms. Giving him a cheeky smile, you giggled.
"We found each other."
