Once again here is your warning this fic contains safe, soft vore. If you don't like/are uncomfortable with that don't read <3
Fish are friends not food.
Wilbur grinned, swimming even faster and further from his father, Phil wasn't considered there wasn't any predators that could harm Wilbur even if he was small for a mer his age.
"C'mon Phil! Don't let your old man tail slow you down!!" Wilbur taunted, swimming back to Phil and circling him to prove a point.
He laughed as he lapped Phil several more times before taking off again, basking in the shadows that the reef provided.
He swam around rocks and watched with a sharp toothed grin as pods of mer took off at just the sight of him.
Wilbur wasnt really the "big mean scary great white mer" everyone took him for but a small part of him purred whenever he watched smaller mers flee from him.
Another part was saddened that they fleed from him, not that he'd acknowledge that. The only company he needed was Phil's and he was... He was happy with that.
In front of him sat one of the biggest rock formations he'd ever seen in the reef! Perfect for hidding, a sly grin crossed his face as he began to inspect it.
Phil's eyes widened with panic as he watched Wilbur begin to explore the caverns, an unjustifiable anxious feeling kicked up and stubbornly refused to leave as Phil frantically swam over searching for his son.
He called for his son and upon receiving no answer only panicked more.
"Wilbur?" Phil called, rounding a corner.
His body froze, tucked away and sleeping soundly was two gigantic kraken mers. He has to warm Wilbur they have to-
"Hello," a deep gruff voice boomed in greeting, Phil slunk back, his gills flapping nervously.
"Seems as if breakfast has come to us," the kraken mused with a smug smirk.
Phil gave a few flicks of his tail before turning and swimming as fast as his tail would carry him.
He didn't get far it seemed as Wilbur jumped out in attempt to scare him, laughing at the startled face of his father.
The blonde mer grapped Wilburs wrist swimming quickly with the brunette much to his confusion.
They just had to get out of the tunnels- if they did they could-
A massive tentacle blocked their way, the owner smirking down at the pair.
"So there's two of you! Glad to know Tommy won't complain," the kraken said, despite the flat nature of its tone Phil could tell there was some sick twisted pleasure hidden beneath the stoic bravado.
"Let him go! Just- just take me!" Phil insisted as Wilbur slunk back hitting the tentacle and immediately swimming back to Phil's side.
The kraken seemed to be considering it, or at least pretending too, "The little one is a perfect size for Tommy to learn how to eat whole prey so I think I'll pass."
Phil's blood ran cold, whole prey- they were going to swallow them ALIVE?? That was just cruel, Phil knew of few barbarians who'd do such things- though its not like krakens were known for chewing their meals...
"Dad..." Wilbur whimpered, the fins on either side of his head flattening as he tried to make himself seemed smaller and less appetizing to the kraken.
"C'mon," the kraken huffed, grabbing them with its tentacle and swimming back to its nest.
The kraken brushed hair from the smallers face, smiling fondly. Phil notes they're probably father and son... Just like him and Wilbur.
"Tommy, breakfast," it crooned softly.
The smaller kraken barely opens his eyes before looking over to Phil and Wilbur, Phil defensibly tries to sheild Wilbur, barely keeping down a low warning growl.
The Kraken slowly picked itself out of their nest, swimming over to the pair and looking down at them curiously.
"Hello," it greeted, showing off rows of shape teeth on a grin.
Wilbur burried his head into Phil's shoulder, squeezing his eyes shut. Wilbur was meant to be the Apex predator of the sea! And now he was going to meet the fate he'd subjected so many too.
"Techno! Can I keep them?" The little kraken asked with wonder and excitement, as if Phil and Wilbur were pets to own.
Phil's heart jumped a little, sure being pets wasn't ideal but ring eaten was way worse!
"Theseus, they're food, and no, you cant keep both."
"Ahah! Not both, but I can keep one?" Tommy grinned, letting out happy chrips. Phil would have found them adorable if not for how terrifying the monster they were coming from was.
The bigger kraken - Techno as Tommy called him - huffed releasing the pair and shoving Wilbur away from Phil and towards Tommy.
Phil reached out for his pup but was quickly pulled back by Techno. He thrashed in the grip, desperately wanting to get his baby back.
"That one's yours Theseus, do what you want with him, but I'm not catching you anymore breakfast," Techno huffed, giving Wilbur and extra push.
Tommy reached out with his hand, gently taking Wilburs wrist within his finger tips. "No need to be scared, I can look after you really well, you're a shark right? That's so cool!" Tommy beamed, already running a hand through Wilburs hair ever so gently with a childlike fascination in his eyes.
"I- he's a shark mer too!" Wilbur tried to argue, looking back at Phil desperately as the large kraken had brought Phil closer to his mouth, toying with the mer in his grasp.
"But you don't look the same?" Tommy asked confused, looking between the two, even with Phil's tail being mostly obscured by Techno's tentacle from Tommy's angle it was clear the two weren't the same species.
Wilbur panicked, interlocking his fingers as a nervous tic, "yeah, yeah and hes super cool and things and- and he has a lot of stories a out the ocean and um-"
Tommy had turned his attention to Phil and Techno, the larger kraken staring at the little one unamused as if he could tell what scheme he had thought of.
He quickly brought the mer up to his mouth ready to close his mouth with Tommy barrled past him taking Phil from his grasp and shooting away with both the mers in hand.
"Tommy!" Techno scowled as the mer gripped the two tightly to his chest in a protective maner.
"Do not..." Techno warned.
Don't what? Phil thought, his question was answered all too quickly as he was plunged into a wet cavern, Tommy's mouth- oh no...
He tried to wrestle the tounge and could hear Wilbur cry outside and Techno's exasperated huffs.
All of a sudden he was thrown back to Tommy's throat and very quickly sent down with no hope of preventing his fast descent.
"TOMMY!" Phil yelled, pounding a fist on the stomach walls desperately, he could've at least ended it quickly...
Wilbur slid in with him and rushed to his father's arms, fearful cries spilling from the mer as the stomach let out a loud growl, apparently happy it had finally been fed.
"Tommy. Spit them up." Techno demanded, doing his best not to simply face palm at his child's antics.
"No! I want them both, they're mine!" Tommy protested with a pout.
"Look- I understand you want friends but does it always have to be mers I bring home as food..." Technoblade asked with a sigh.
"Technooo! I like these ones, really! Like a lot! They're cool!" Tommy complained, covering his abdomen and giving Techno a little warning growl when the older kraken was 'staring too much'.
"You've barely talked to them," Techno scoffed.
Tommy growled louder, "Pleaseee!"
Technoblade huffed, this kid would be the death of him "Fine, but on the one condition you stop trying to befriend all your food."
Tommy pondered the deal... If it meant keeping his new friends safe then really- "Deal!"
Phil woke up to Wilbur curled into his side, they were in the caves- the rock- the tunnels... They were alive! How- they were eaten! Swallowed whole.
Above them loomed the little kraken with a sharp toothy grin, beaming down on them like the sun.
"So I'm Tommy! But Techno case me Theseus sometime, and speaking of the blade himself! That's Technoblade! He's kinda like my dad. What are your guys names?" The little kraken grinned introducing himself and the other kraken. (The other kraken who looked five seconds from finishing what he started)
"Erm- I'm Wilbur and this is my dad Phil," Wilbur answered hesitantly, looking cautiously to his father for reassurance.
Tommy visibly lit up, looping around in the water, dragging the shark mers with him in his excitement, "That's so poggers!"
"Poggers is not a word Tommy," Techno stated bluntly, looking at the smaller duo with a bored expression.
"It is too! If I can use it in a sentence and define it then its a word!" Tommy argued.
Phil clutched tighter to Wilbur, watching the krakens with weary eyes.
Wilbur glared at Tommy distrustingly,.baring sharp teeth in a silent threat.
"Sorry about... Swallowing you, if it helps you were just in my storage stomach!" Tommy muttered quietly, looking at the two sheepishly.
Technoblade glared down a the pair as if daring them to not accept the apology. Phil swam forward with Wilbur tailing close behind, "It's... Okay, thank you for saving us?" Phil wasn't quite sure if that was the right use of words or if they really were saved but for now Phil could at least consider them out of risk of immediate danger.
Life with the krakens was surprisingly okay, Technoblade gave them the cold shoulder most of the time and down right ignored them the rest. Tommy was overbearing and clingy, he had a habit of giving Wilbur and him 'tounge baths' where he'd lick them clean after their meals seeing as they tended to get more messy than either of the krakens.
Eating was another issue... Technoblade had issues with the way Phil and Wilbur chose to eat. Sure if it was about all the blood they may agree, it gets messy!
But that's not what Technoblade is ever upsrt about. If anything he finds amusement in the bloodshed.
No, what he's upset about is that they choose to eat the way they do at all.
"I'd prefer of you didn't... Eat... Like that around Tommy, I'm trying to teach him how to eat prey whole, like a real predator," Techno huffed, glaring at Phil.
Phil thought for a moment, he was big enough to swallow most of his own prey whole if he really wanted but... "I find it a cruel practice to eat prey living, shouldn't you respect those who give up their lives to feed you?"
Technoblade scoffed, "You act as if prey has a choice either way."
"Sue me for respecting my meals," Phil huffed.
"Consider my respect having kept you alive." Technoblade growled.
"You can't kill me!" Phil blurted out when Techno had gotten too close for comfort, he was used to Tommy's clingy behavior and touch seeing as he doesn't have the intent to kill him let alone torture him.
Technoblade chuckled, "I'm sure I could."
He was right, the kraken could easily end Phil's life, but he wouldn't.
"What about Tommy!" Phil yelped as Techno swiped st him lazily with a tentacle, the kraken cocked a brow at the smaller shark mer, "He'd be sad! He'd think I left him," Phil could feel himself hyperventilating as Technoblade drew closer.
"PHILLL!" Tommy's sharp voice echoed through the tunnels.
Technoblade looked unimpressed but backed off with a huff, "Fine," he conceded.
Phil watched the kraken swim off, probably to find more food for Tommy. He could feel a flush of cold water breeze through his gills as he began to settle his nerves.
He'd get him and Wilbur out of here... Eventually.
I don't actually know what to write for the next part of this- (if you have any ideas feel free to suggest them??)
