Wonderland took... a lot. From everyone. It wasn't something that Taako preferred to think about. But sometimes, early in the mornings, standing before the mirror in the bathroom, hands carefully skimming over skin now looser than it once was, touching thinned lips and gazing back at the darkened eyes accompanied by heavy bags... he couldn't help but think of what they'd lost.
Of course the others lost as well. Important things, things they could never get back.
But his beauty was a part of him, a part he clung to to hide himself away while simultaneously placing himself at the center of attention. Of being hidden and seen all at once. And sure, he could regain his image with magic, keep his beauty and looks at the cost of a level one spell slot per fucking hour, but whatever. He could deal, he was a powerful wizard, or whatever. But it was still tiring.
He woke up late this morning. It was fine, not like he had any plans anyways. But maybe that was a part of the problem. Nothing to do but stand at the bathroom counter, eyeing over all of your flaws. Great. Perfect. His stomach felt sick. His eyes looked wrong, his nose looked crooked. His face felt greasy and wrong, his hair was thinner than it once was.
Ugh.
There’s a rattle at the doorknob and all of a sudden, Kravitz's beautiful face is seen in the mirror, behind Taako. The elf swears and ducks his head down, quickly muttering “Disguise Self” before popping his head back up and spinning around to face his lovely partner. The other looks... off-put.,
“Jesus, doll, ever heard of knocking?” Taako asks, giving the tiniest of smiles.
“Taako.” He says quietly, his face unreadable. “I... sorry. I apologize.” He mumbles and Taako raises an eyebrow.
“Somethin’ wrong, stud?” He hums, giving a fake smile, leaning back against the bathroom counter.
“I feel as though I could ask the same to you.” Kravitz replies, and Taako falters, just slightly. Observant little fucker, his boyfriend was.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Taako shrugs, his eyes going down to the floor.
“Taako...” Kravitz frowns. It doesn’t suit him at all. Sure, the guy’s honestly death, but know that Taako’s had the opportunity to see him smile, he’d much rather only be seeing that from now on. He steps forward, and Taako’s gaze snaps up to him. “Did you cast a spell, just now?”
“Don’t be silly,” Taako laughs, waving his hand dismissively, “why would I need to be castin’ spells right now?”
