He shrugged, but accepted the compress and held it against his nose. He had a feeling he'd be spouting an impressive pair of black eyes over the next couple of days, but it was still worth it. "I can try. But really, you should see the other guy, he just got a lucky swing in is all."

Maybe he couldn't fight the whole world, but he he sure as the void could fight his part of it. Maybe it wouldn't change anything, really. But at least it made sure that there was still someone fighting.

Krem glanced down at the mending in his hands. "Yeah, though it's more from my father. Ran a tailor shop while I was growing up. I learned the trade before I joined the army. It's served me well."

He laid the last few stitches down, popping the thread free with a practiced tug and tucked the needle into the collar of the shirt.

"It's a good skill to have. I always thought I'd end up running that shop eventually." He sounded almost wistful. As much as he didn't regret leaving Tevinter, and as much as he maintained that there wasn't anything there for him to return to, he still had fond memories.

"Of course, Lady Seeker." Krem was usually a pretty reasonable man, despite his occasional bouts of temper, and would swallow more than his share of slurs and insults thrown his way. That patience did not extend to listening to others be belittled and verbally assaulted.

"I'd promise it wouldn't happen again, but I'd hate to make a liar of myself." He stood with his hands folded neatly behind his back, still very much a soldier despite his years away from Tevinter. But he was also smiling, more than pleased that Cassandra seemed to have fallen on his side of this particular situation.
