GoldenShowers and Birth Certificates
Here's a fundamental difference between the approach to politics of Democrats and Republicans: Republicans took the "fake news" of Obama's "questionable Hawaiian birth" and turned it into a political issue by constantly raising it-- not specifically confirming it, just speaking about it, legitimizing it as a topic of conversation, and generally raising the "controversy" to the level of "news" even if the underlying issue itself (Obama's legitimacy as an American citizen) was never really in question. Donald Trump in particular rode this horse and kept the "controversy" alive for years past the point where it was even remotely newsworthy. In contrast, Democratic politicians have known about the "Trump Kremlin Dossier" for MONTHS and never brought it up for discussion as a public issue. They never created a "controversy" for the news media to cover, never publicized the "issue," never demanded that Trump refute the charges and somehow prove he isn't a Kremlin tool. They let this potential weapon sit undischarged for the entire election season, and only the action of the offended intelligence services brought it into the public arena for discussion as a "controversy." If Democrats had the ruthless political instincts of Republicans they would be demand Congressional hearings, raise the issue constantly during cable news interviews, tweet endlessly about it and start Facebook groups to explore potential "leads" and spread rumors. They won't. Because they don't understand that in 21st Century America, politics is a mud-slinging blood sport in which the player who hits lowest wins. Keep the #GoldenShowers and #KremlinTool meme alive. We have to fight fire with fire and slime with slime. The day of honorable politicking is past. This is war. Use the enemy's weapons and tactics against him or prepare yourselves for endless political defeat.
